Description

The invention relates to a thread feed for circular knitting machines with bobbins distributed over their circumference, each of which is assigned a knot catcher and a thread deflector, which are arranged at a distance above the bobbin holder and are supported by upstanding rods, and with the knot catchers and the thread deflections in the thread running direction subsequent thread stores.

Such a circular knitting machine is known (e.g. from "knitting and knitting technology", June 1977, pp. 309-313). The vertically upstanding rods carry a ring to which are attached horizontally radially outwardly extending support arms for the knot catchers and thread deflections. The knot catchers and the thread deflections, which form the highest point of the thread path, are arranged at a greater distance above the bobbin carriers so that the yarn can run off the bobbins perfectly.

The bobbin carriers are arranged at a conveniently accessible working height above the floor, so that empty bobbins can be replaced with new bobbins as easily as possible. The consequence of this is that the knot catchers and thread deflections are arranged at a height at which they can no longer be easily reached by an operator or by hand. Therefore, a lay-on fork is used to thread the threads at the start of operation. Thread the yarns into the knot catchers and insert them into the thread deflections. This process is cumbersome and time consuming. In addition, in the known circular knitting machine there are many essentially horizontally extending parts on which fiber fly or fluff is deposited and which have to be cleaned by blowing off. This blowing is done using ladders. The method of operation is also cumbersome and the use of ladders is associated with an increased risk of accidents. Finally, the many yarn rack parts provided result in comparatively heavy soiling, which can result in defects in the fabric.

Accordingly, the object of the invention is to improve the known design in such a way that the amount of work involved in operating the machine is reduced and that dirt and fluff are deposited to a lesser extent and can be removed easily and safely.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that each bobbin for supporting the associated knot catcher and the thread deflection is assigned its own upstanding rod, which is attached to the bobbin easily detachably by a plug connection.

In this embodiment, the ring lying high and the radial arms extending from it are eliminated for the knot catchers and thread deflections. The rods, which run essentially vertically in their operating position, offer a comparatively small area for depositing down. The rods can be easily removed without using ladders or the like, so that their upper ends can also be lowered to a comfortable height for handling with the knot catcher and the thread deflector. The removed rods can not only be easily cleaned in this way, the threading of the thread into the knot catcher and the insertion of the thread into the thread deflection can be carried out effortlessly directly by hand, after which the rods are fastened again in their operating position by means of the plug connection. This eliminates the cumbersome fiddling with an overhead fork or the like. Rather, the corresponding activities are carried out by the operator while standing safely on the floor. The individual work is carried out quickly and safely, especially since no aids such as forks and ladders are required and the individual rods can be removed and reinserted one after the other, if necessary, and the rods always remain in place. Any necessary replacement of a rod with a knot catcher and thread deflection can also be carried out quickly and easily.

Appropriate refinements and developments result from the subclaims.

An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to a schematic drawing, which shows in a partially sectioned view in the circumferential direction a rod in the operating position with a knot catcher and thread deflection above the associated bobbin, the thread running from the bobbin through the knot catcher, via the Thread deflection up to a storage head for the thread is indicated.

A radial rod 1 is mounted on a carrier 3 in a radially adjustable manner with the aid of a clamping device 2. On the radial rod 1, a coil carrier 4 with a slider 5 is radially displaceably and can be fixed by means of a screw part 6. A coil 8 is attached to the coil carrier 4.

The end of the radial rod 1 projecting radially outward beyond the coil carrier 4 or the plugged-on coil 8 is bent upward as shown by a little more than 90 °. This outer end is widened to a pin 10 of square cross section.

An upstanding rod 11 is plugged onto the pin 10 with a socket 12 formed on its lower end, which has a recess 13 of square shape adapted to the pin 10. The rod 11 is bent at its upper end several times substantially at a right angle, so that a thread deflection 15 is formed with a substantially horizontal deflection section 16, the two ends of which merge into upstanding rod sections. The thread deflection 15, like the somewhat lower-lying knot catcher 18, which is fastened via a holder 19 welded to the rod 11, is arranged, as shown, essentially in the perpendicular axis of the coil carrier 4 or the coil 8. The knot catcher 18 is designed in a known manner, so that a detailed description can be omitted.

During the operation of the circular knitting machine, which has a plurality of the arrangements shown, which are arranged evenly distributed one after the other in the circumferential direction, the thread 20 runs from the bobbin 8 through the knot catcher 18 and over the deflection section 16 to a thread store 22 of a known type, and then the Processing to be fed through the circular knitting machine.

The plug pin 10 and the socket 12 form a plug connection, which enables the rod 11 to be removed and replaced easily. The pin 10 is received with a small amount of guide play in the recess 13 of the socket 12. This ensures, in conjunction with a sufficient length of the pin 1 0 and the recess 13, a secure and precise attachment of the rod 11 and thus the arrangement of the knot catcher 18 and the thread deflection 15. It has been shown that the weight of the rod 11 also during this Machine operation holds in the operating position shown, so that special measures to secure the connector 10, 12 can be dispensed with in the interest of easy handling.
