While a new supply roll 37 is being wound on the pin 46, the finished supply roll can be removed from the pin 50 and a new core 45 can be prepared. After completion of the supply roll 37 on the pin 46, it is lifted off the conveyor belt 28 by means of the pressure medium cylinder 51 and the bush 48 is shifted into its other extreme position, and the supply roll 37 is lowered on the hall floor and pulled off the pin 46.

Die Hydraulikzylinder 51, 52 können dadurch betätigt werden, dass der Pneumatikzylinder mit einem Endschalter versehen ist. Claims (6)

1. Apparatus for making shingled strip rolls (37) consisting of shingled flat acticies, such as bags or bag workpieces, which have been superimposed in a a shingled arrangement on a belt conveyor, comprising a winding core (45), which is mounted in the machine frame and to which at least one retaining strip (40) is secured, which is withdrawn from a supply roll (39) and as the shingled strip (37) is wound up is stretched over and retains the latter, also comprising a belt conveyor, which supplies the workpieces and consists of a frame (35), which carries rollers (31, 33) at least at opposite ends of the frame and is pivotally movable about the axis of the first roller (31), and a driven endless conveyor belt (28) trained around the rollers (31, 32, 33) of said frame, also comprising means (38) for moving the frame (35) into engagement with the winding core (45) or with the shingled strip roll (37) forming on said winding core so that they are driven by the endless conveyor belt (28) of said frame, and comprising a con- veyorforfeeding the shingled articles to the belt conveyor, characterized in that the drive roll shaft for the belt conveyor (28) is connected to a pulse generator (41), which delivers electric pulses in accordance with predetermined angular positions, which pulses are counted by a counter (42), which is adapted to be set to a predetermined count, the device (26) for scanning the edges of the workpieces resets the counter (42) to zero in response to the detection of each workpiece edge, the counter (42) deenergizes the motor for driving the drive roller shaft when the set count has been reached, and the motor is re-energized when the counter (42) has been reset by the scanning device (26).
2. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterized in that two pivoted arms (47, 49) are longitudinally slidably mounted on an axle (53), which is transverse to the belt conveyor (28), and each of said arms carries at its end a pin (46, 50) for receiving a winding core (45).
3. Apparatus according to claim 2, characterized in that the pivoted arms (47, 49) are arranged in mirror symmetry and the pins (46, 50) extend outwardly.

Apparatus according to claim 2 or 3, characterized in that the pivoted arms (47, 49) are articulatedly connected to hydraulic piston-cylinder units (51, 52), which at their other ends are articulatedly connected to a slide (55), which is movable in a track of a carrier (58), which is disposed above and parallel to the axle (53).
5. Apparatus according to any of claims 2 to 4, characterized in that the pivoted arms (47, 49) are pivoted on a bushing (48), which is slidable on the axle (53).
6. Apparatus according to any of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the frame (35) is movable by a pneumatic piston-cylinder unit (38) into engagement with the winding core (45) or the shingled strip roll (37) forming on said winding core.
