Description

The invention relates to a guide tooth for forming a weft insertion channel of a weaving machine, with a free leg that divides the warp threads when entering the shed.

In the case of a previous guide tooth of the type mentioned (DE-PS 11 92 986), at least the section which first touches the warp threads to be divided and then separates them is provided with a curved outer edge. A weaving machine provided with such guide teeth cannot process certain warp yarns. These are especially the so-called knot yarns, e.g. Air-entangled yarns = "Air tangled yarns" or "Air mingled yarns". These yarns consist of individual, parallel fibrils, the cross connection (e.g. connection by air swirling) is only provided at relatively large intervals. The distances in such air-entangled yarns can e.g. 0.7 to 1.2 cm. With such yarns, the known guide tooth can pierce between the fibrils, get caught on them and destroy the yarn.

The invention has for its object to provide a particularly improved guide tooth in this regard, with which it should be possible in particular to process knot yarns in the chain.

The invention consists in that the free leg has a straight outer edge which runs parallel to the warp threads to be divided when they come into contact with them.

This makes it possible to knot a yarn on the weaving machine, e.g. an air-entangled yarn to be processed in the warp, in which the distance between two successive cross-connection points of the fibrils is not greater than the straight outer edge of the guide tooth, which is parallel to the warp threads when entering the compartment. Due to the straight course of the outer edge, the guide tooth simultaneously enters the entire length of the outer edge between the warp threads to be divided or separated. If the distance between two successive connection points of the warp yarn is not greater than the straight outer edge of the guide tooth, it is achieved that the guide tooth in each case hits against at least one connection point of the yarn. However, this prevents the warp thread in question from being pierced or spliced by the guide tooth. The warp thread will definitely lie on one or the other side of the guide tooth as it enters the shed more and more.

  • Fig. 2, 3 veranschaulichen zwei verschiedene Garnsorten.
Further features result from the following description of exemplary embodiments in conjunction with the drawing and the claims.
  • 1 is a section through part of a weaving machine to which the invention is applied,
  • 2, 3 illustrate two different types of yarn.

The weaving machine contains a drawer 2 pivoted back and forth according to arrow 1, which carries a reed 3 and a number of guide teeth 4. Through the guide teeth 4, a weft thread 6 is inserted into the shed 7 during the weft insertion in the example by means of a projectile 5. This is formed by warp threads 8 in the high position and by warp threads 9 in the low position. The guide tooth 4 has a free upper leg 11 and a lower leg 12. The legs 11, 12 form a guide channel 13 for the projectile 5 and the weft thread 6. The upper free leg 11 in FIG. 1 has a straight outer edge 14, the function of which is described in detail below.

After completion of the weft insertion, the drawer 2 is pivoted together with the parts 3, 4 from the position 111, 111 1 according to arrow 1 into the position I, I ', in which the weft thread 6 is struck at the stop 17 of the resulting fabric 18.

Before the next weft insertion, the parts 2, 3, 4 are again pivoted clockwise in FIG. 1. They pass through the position 11, 11 ', in which the straight outer edge 14 of the guide tooth 4 is parallel to the warp threads 9 located in the low position.

It is assumed that the warp threads 8, 9 consist of an air-swirled yarn 24 according to FIG. 3, which contains air swirl points 21. The individual, parallel fibrils 22 are held together by these. The length L of the outer edge 14 of the guide tooth 4 is at least as long as the distance A between two swirling points 21, so that the edge 14 definitely hits a swirling point 21 when the guide tooth 4 sticks into the shed 7. This makes it impossible for the air-swirled warp thread 9 to be torn apart or spliced by a guide tooth 4.

For comparison, a normally twisted yarn (thread) 23 is shown in FIG.

The guide tooth described can also be used to form a guide channel of a weaving machine, in which the weft is inserted by means of an air or water jet.
