Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a guide tooth for forming a weft insertion channel of a weaving machine, with a free leg that divides the warp threads when entering the shed.
In the case of a previous guide tooth of the type mentioned (DE-PS 11 92 986), at least the section which first touches the warp threads to be divided and then separates them is provided with a curved outer edge. A weaving machine provided with such guide teeth cannot process certain warp yarns. These are particularly the so-called knot yarns, for example air-entangled yarns = "Air tangled yarns" or "Air mingled yarns". These yarns consist of individual, parallel fibrils, the cross connection (eg connection by air swirling) is only provided at relatively large distances. The distances in such air-entangled yarns can be, for example, 0 1 7 to 1.2 cm. In such yarns, the known guide tooth can pierce between the fibrils, get caught on them and destroy the yarn.
The object of the invention is to create a guide tooth which is particularly improved in this regard, with which it should be possible in particular to process knot yarns in the chain.
The invention consists in that the free leg has a straight outer edge which runs parallel to the warp threads to be divided when they come into contact with them.
This makes it possible to knot a twine on the weaving machine, e.g. an air-entangled yarn to be processed in the warp, in which the distance between two successive cross-connection points of the fibrils is not greater than the straight outer edge of the guide tooth, which is parallel to the warp threads when entering the compartment. Due to the straight course of the outer edge, the guide tooth simultaneously enters the entire length of the outer edge between the warp threads to be divided or separated. If the distance between two successive connection points of the warp yarn is not greater than the straight outer edge of the guide tooth, it is achieved that the guide tooth in each case hits against at least one connection point of the yarn. However, this prevents the warp thread in question from being pierced or spliced by the guide tooth. The warp thread will definitely lie on one or the other side of the guide tooth as it enters the shed more and more.
- Fig. 2,3 veranschaulichen zwei verschiedene Garnsorten.
- 1 is a section through part of a weaving machine to which the invention is applied,
- Fig. 2,3 illustrate two different types of yarn.
The weaving machine contains a
After completion of the weft insertion, the
Before the next weft insertion, the
It is assumed that the
For comparison, a normally twisted yarn (thread) 23 is shown in FIG.
The guide tooth described can also be used to form a guide channel of a weaving machine, in which the weft is inserted by means of an air or water jet.
