Claims (7)

1. Verfahren zur Verstärkung der Kanten eines Bandes bestehend aus Spiralen (2, 3), die ineinander verschachtelt oder durch Kopplungsstangen (5) miteinander verbunden sind, bei dem man an der Kante des Bandes ein zusätzliches Verstärkungselement (10) einführt, das sich auf den Enden der Spiralen (2, 3) abstützt, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Element (10) aus einem Draht besteht, der eine Folge von Windungen (12) oder Wellen (15) aufweist, von denen mindestens eine Windung (12) oder Welle (15) ins Innere jeder Spirale (2, 3) gemäss deren axialer Richtung eingeführt ist.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass vor dem Einführen des Verstärkungselements (10) die Kante des Bandes (1) parallel zur Längsachse geschnitten wird.
3. Verfahren nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass eine Beschichtung (18) der Kante des Bandes (1) über eine Breite L durchgeführt wird, die grösser ist als die Eindringtiefe der Windungen (12) oder Wellen (15) des Verstärkungselements (10).
4. Verfahren nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man ein zusätzliches Verstärkungselement (13) zwischen den Boden (11) der Windungen (12) oder Wellen (15) des Verstärkungselements (10) in Längsrichtung des Bandes einführt.
5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das zusätzliche Verstärkungselement (13) mit den Spiralen (12) oder Wellen (15) des Verstärkungselements (10) fest mittels eines Kettenstichs (20) verbunden ist, der die Spiralen (12) oder Wellen (15) des Verstärkungselements (10) im richtigen Abstand hält.
6. Verfahren nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Verstärkungselement (10) mehrere Windungen (16, 17) oder Wellen (15) aufweist, die ins Innere jeweils einer gemeinsamen Spirale (2, 3) des Bands (1) eingeführt werden.
7. Verfahren nach Anspruch 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Verstärkungselement (10) mehrere Windungen (19) unterschiedlicher Längen in jeder Spirale (2, 3) des Bandes (1) - aufweist.
