- a plate heat exchanger of this type is described in French Patent No. 1,038,859. It describes a heat exchanger for two media circulating against the current. Plates arranged in parallel provide passages for the fluid media. The extreme parts of these plates are connected by perpendicular transverse conduits which can have, according to a particular embodiment, a pear-shaped cross section.
