The coupling is done by rotating the actuator 9, preferably 90 degrees. Accordingly, the lower drive rod 19 can only be displaced if the clutch has been previously engaged with the aid of the actuating member 9. Claims (11)

1. Optionally tiltable or parallel positionable casement (2) of a window, a door or the like, which is held by in each case an upper and a lower positioning arm (5) rotatably mounted on the mullion of the casement and on the associated fixed frame (3), characterised in that each positioning arm (5) is mounted so as to be rotatable and vertically displaceable on the end face of the casement (2) and carries rotatably mounted on it and on the casement an auxiliary arm (6) and in that the positioning arm, when in the closed and parallel-open position, in each case assumes an inclined position vis-a-vis the casement plane, these two positions being substantially mirror- opposites of each other, and in that each upper positioning arm is located in a mirror-opposite relationship in respect of its lower positioning arm with reference to a plane perpendicular to the plane of the closed casement, the casement-side axes of rotation (14) of the upper and lower positioning arms being closer than those (22) of their auxiliary arms.
2. Casement according to Claim 1, characterised in that the positioning arms (5) are supported on the fixed frame (3) via rolling or sliding elements (24, 28) which are in particular located at the frame end (12) of their positioning arm (5).

Casement according to Claim 2, characterised in that the lower positioning arms (5) are supported via at least one roller but preferably a pair of rollers (24, 25) on a rail (26) or similar guide, the roller or rollers being mounted on a roller-holder (23) on which the frame end (12) of the positioning arm is articulated.
4. Casement according to Claim 3, characterised in that the two roller-holders (23) of the lower positioning arms (5) are connected to each other by a rod-shaped or tubular member which is fixed particularly in push-in manner.

Casement according to one or more of the preceding Claims, characterised in that there is on each horizontal member of the casement (2), associated with each positioning arm (5) and adapted to be actuated by means of a drive rod (19), a control stud (33) which, with transmission members (35, 38, 40) rotatably mounted on this horizontal member, forms a control device for adjustment of the casement (2), the upper and lower control studs, when undergoing simultaneous displacement, moving in opposite directions, the upper control studs being capable of being moved without the lower control studs, although the lower control studs are not however movable without the upper control studs.
6. Casement according to Claim 5, characterised in that the drive rod (19) of the lower control studs (33) is connected to the drive rod of the upper control studs through a coupling device.

Casement according to Claim 5 or 6, characterised in that the control stud (33) engages into an arcuate control slot (34) of a first rotary member (35) which co-operates with a second rotary member (38) in the manner of a knee lever, both rotary members being mounted on the horizontal member of the casement and being pivotable in a plane which is directed at a right angle to the plane of the casement and also to the pivoting plane of the associated positioning arm (5), and in that the second rotary member (38) is rotatably connected to a control rod (40), of which one end is pivotally and displaceably mounted on the horizontal casement member while its other end is rotatably mounted on the positioning arm.
8. Casement according to Claim 7, characterised in that the control rod (40) is mounted on the positioning arm (5) via a ball joint.
9. Casement according to Claim 7 or 8, characterised in that the control rod (40), the first rotary member (35) and the second rotary member (38) are mounted on one arm (20) of a corner angle (17) for the casement corner, on the other arm (16) of which are articulated the positioning arm (5) and the auxiliary arm (6).
10. Casement according to Claim 9, characterised in that the corner angle (17) is part of a corner reversing guide (18) for the drive rod (19).
11. Casement according to one or more of Claims 7 to 10, characterised in that the first and the second rotary members (35, 38) are coupled to each other via teeth (39) or some similar means.
