  • This invention relates to a tongue and buckle fastener for a safety belt comprising a tongue having a latching formation thereon, a buckle in which a passageway is provided for receiving the tongue, a spring-loaded tongue ejector which is slidable in the passageway, a latch member movable transversely of the passageway between a latching position in which it engages with the latching formation to retain the tongue in the passageway and a release position in which the tongue is displaceable by the ejector outwardly along the passageway from its retained position, the latch member being spring-biased into its latching position, a push button displaceable longitudinally of the passageway and operative when depressed to move the latch member to its release position, catch means for retaining the push button in its depressed position and release means on the ejector for releasing the catch means when the tongue has been inserted into the passageway to such an extent that the latching formation thereon has passed the latch member.

The effect of this is that the detents 138 are prevented from engaging in the slots 130 and 131 until after the shoulders 16 and 18 of the tongue 10 have moved to the left of the right-hand edge of the latch plate 48, as viewed in Figure 2, thereby preventing partial re-engagement of the latch plate with the push button in its depressed position.

Claims (3)

1. Un dispositif de fixation à languette et boucle pour ceinture de sécurité comprenant une languette (10) comportant sur le dessus une structure de verrouillage (16, 18) et une bouche (110) dans laquelle est ménagé un passage (30) destiné à recevoir la languette (10), la boucle (110) comportant un dispositif d'éjection (112) de la languette, qui est chargé élastiquement et coulissant dans le passage (30), un élément de verrouillage (48) se déplaçant transversalement par rapport audit passage (30) entre une position de verrouillage dans laquelle il vient en prise avec la structure de verrouillage (16, 18) pour retenir la languette (10) dans le passage (30) et une position de dégagement dans laquelle la languette (10) est déplacée par le dispositif d'éjection (112) vers l'extérieur le long du passage (30), à partir de sa position de retenue, l'élément de verrouillage (48) étant rappelé élastiquement dans sa position de verrouillage, et un bouton-poussoir (22) mobile le long du passage (30) et qui assure, lorsqu'il est enfoncé, le déplacement de l'élément de verrouillage (48) vers sa position de dégagement, des moyens de retenue (134) pour maintenir le bouton-poussoir (22) dans sa position abaissée et des moyens de dégagement (114) qui peuvent être déplacés par le dispositif d'éjection (112) pour dégager les moyens de retenue (134) lorsque la languette (10) a été insérée dans le passage (30) sur une distance telle que la structure de verrouillage (16, 18) a dépassé l'élément de verrouillage (48), caractérisé en ce que les moyens de dégagement (114) présentent une structure de dégagement (116) qui est capable de se déplacer longitudinalement d'une distance limitée par rapport au dispositif d'éjection (112) de telle sorte que la position du dispositif d'éjection (112) dans laquelle les moyens de dégagement (114) libèrent le bouton-poussoir (22) durant l'insertion de la languette (10) soit plus éloignée de l'extrémité de la boucle à partir de laquelle la languette (10) est insérée que la position dans laquelle les moyens de dégagement (114) permettent à la détente (138) de pénétrer dans le logement (130, 131) durant l'éjection de la languette (10).
2. Un dispositif de fixation selon la revendication 1, caractérisé en ce que les moyens de retenue comprennent un élément de retenue à ressort (134) relié au bouton-poussoir (22) de telle sorte qu'une détente (138) disposée dessus soit poussée en prise avec un élément de paroi (118) entourant un côté du passage (30) de manière à être reçue dans un logement (130, 131) ménagé dans la paroi (118) lorsque le bouton-poussoir est dans sa position abaissée, les moyens de dégagement comprennent un élément de dégagement (114) monté sur le dispositif d'éjection (112) et la structure de dégagement comprend une extrémité (116) de l'élément de dégagement (114) qui fait saillie à travers une fente (44) dans ladite paroi (118) dans la trajectoire dudit élément de retenue (134) de manière à coopérer avec ce dernier pour déplacer la détente (138) hors du logement (130, 131).
3. Un dispositif de fixation selon la revendication 2, caractérisé en ce que l'élément de dégagement (114) est monté à pivotement par rapport au dispositif d'éjection (112).
