Definitions
- the present invention relates to a foundry process with a view to obtaining, in particular, works of art.
- small volumes or cores of sand of indefinite shape are placed in a mold which form gaps between them in which the molten metal can flow.
- the cores are removed by a jet. water and / or compressed air.
- a mold 1 is made of sand.
- the mold 1 is filled with the aid of cores 2 constituted by clumps of hardened sand, of variable shapes.
- the cores form gaps between them 3 in which the molten metal can flow.
- the molten metal gradually solidifies before reaching the walls of the mold and, after demolding, it is found that the object has on the surface extensions 4 with rounded ends. Therefore, the object obtained has no sharp edge.
- the mold 1 does not have the function of retaining the molten metal but of maintaining the cores in a predetermined volume, said cores constituting in fact the real mold, the aforementioned one 1 being therefore able to be replaced by any means of maintenance of said nuclei.
- the method of the invention also provides, in addition, the use of conventional cores (not shown) having a well-defined geometric shape.
- the object is removed from the mold in the traditional way by breaking the mold into sand and removing the stones using a jet of water or compressed air.

Abstract
Description
- La figure 1 est une vue partielle en coupe montrant le procédé de moulage d'un objet;
