- the invention is based on the object of developing the known electric gas switch so that the current-dependent extinguishing capacity of such a generic auto-blow switch is improved while maintaining its dimensions using the simplest possible means.
- the advantages achieved with the invention according to claim 1 consist essentially in the fact that the compression space of the electrical auto-blow switch and thus its blowing volume is automatically adapted to the size of the current to be switched off or to the pressure of the quenching gas heated by the switch-off arc in the compression space.
- the entire structure of the auto-blow switch does not have to be set to the maximum size of the current to be switched off, but it is sufficient according to the measures of claim 1, especially by increasing the compression space, to limit the pressure of the heated extinguishing gas so that it does not have a predeterminable value exceeds, with the further advantage that the extinguishing gas is sufficiently heated or its pressure is increased even with small flows to be switched off if the compression space is not enlarged.
- the auto-blow switch according to claim 3 because, apart from the axially symmetrical design of the means for changing the compression space, the pressure increase which exceeds the necessary and thus predeterminable value of the extinguishing gas pressure in the case of large flows to be switched off is suitable in a simple manner by means of at least one spring element is stored in order to then be available after the arc has been extinguished after the pressure in the compression chamber has been reduced sufficiently.

- a spring 2 is arranged between the annular piston 1 and the insulating nozzle carrier 7 and is supported with its two ends on the parts 1 and 7.
- the compression space of the switch is in position 3.
- the axial movement of the annular piston I is limited on the compression space side by a stop 3d against which the wall 1a of 1 facing the extinguishing gas runs up, the spring 2 against the side lb of the annular piston I facing away from the extinguishing gas presses.
- the fixed contact carrier 5 is detachably connected to the pipe 3a by means of fixing parts 3e.
- the contact carrier 5 has an annular opening 5b which is surrounded by the edge zone 5a of the contact carrier 5.
- the edge zone 5a of the contact carrier 5 carries the first switching contact 6, the nozzle 6a of which. Ring opening 5b is arranged in alignment.
- the nozzle 6a is surrounded by a coil 10a, which in the area of the free end 6c of the first switching contact 6 is connected at one end to a race 11 arranged there, the parts 10a and 11 being carried by the fixed contact carrier 5 by means of a supporting part 5c will.
- the first switch contact 6 and the other end of the coil 10a are closed with one current leadership of the switch connected so that these details not essential to the invention are not shown in Figure 1.
- the compression space 3 is connected to the contact space-side gas space 5d via the ring opening 11a of the race 11 and the cavity 6b of the nozzle 6a.
- the fixed insulating nozzle holder 7 is detachably connected to the pipe 3a by means of further fixing parts 3f.
- the insulating nozzle holder 7 has an annular opening 7b which is surrounded by the edge zone 7a of the insulating nozzle holder 7.
- the edge zone 7a of the insulating nozzle carrier 7 carries the insulating nozzle 7, the insulating nozzle 7 being arranged in alignment with the ring opening 7b.
- the insulating nozzle carrier 7 also has through holes 7d for the extinguishing gas, so that when the position of the annular piston 1 changes between the spring chamber 2a and the gas chamber 7e on the insulating nozzle carrier side, pressure equalization of the extinguishing gas can take place.
- the second switching contact 8 is not in engagement with the first switching contact 6, so that the compression space 3 is connected to the gas space 7e on the insulating nozzle carrier side via the front opening 7f of the insulating nozzle 7c and the cavity 8a of the second switching contact 8.
- the second switch contact 8 is connected to the other power supply of the switch and driven by the switch drive, so that these details, which are not important to the invention, are also not shown in FIG.
- the elongation and blowing result in a change in shape and cooling of the switch-off arc, which is associated with an increase in the arc resistance, so that the electrical current to be switched off now also begins to flow via the coil 10a and the race 11 and the switch-off arc and the switch contact 8 and the arc subsequently commutates with its one base point from the switching contact 6 to the race 11, as is shown in FIG. 2 under position 4.
- the tube 3a is made of an electrically insulating material.
- the current to be switched off flows through the coil 10a, so that the switch-off arc 4 rotates under the action of the coil field, one foot point of the arc 4 rotating on the race 11.
- the extinguishing gas in the compression space 3 is heated up intensively in a short time, and the pressure of this gas is increased accordingly, thereby spontaneously intensifying the effect of the blowing flow on the arc 4. This is necessary for the extinction of the switch-off arc 4 - manoeuvrable and sufficient extinguishing gas volume of the compression space 3 depends primarily on the size of the electrical current to be switched off.
- the dimensioning of the compression space 3 and thus the blowing volume will be matched to the small and medium-sized currents of the respective power class which are critical with these switches. This is necessary above all to ensure sufficient heating of the extinguishing gas in the compression space 3 in the case of such currents. Accordingly, the positionally variable annular piston 1, which also delimits the compression space 3, is to be arranged in such a way that even small and medium-sized currents are switched off properly.
- the positionally variable annular piston 1 is pressed accordingly in the direction of the pressure arrows 15 against the compression spring 2 and the spring 2 is accordingly compressed accordingly and thereby the volume of the compression space 3 is automatically adapted to the larger current to be switched off.
- the spring 2 not only causes a limitation of the pressure of the extinguishing gas in the compression space 3 but also stores the excess pressure not necessary at that time for the formation of the blowing flow in the phase of the pressure increase, by compressing the spring 2 by it, and then reducing it Current or pressure to be switched off in the compression space 3 to reduce the stored pressure via the blowing flow into the gas spaces 5d and 7e in the current zero crossing and thereby to improve the extinguishing capacity of the auto-blowing switch.
- the change in position of the piston 1 can of course also be used in a manner known per se via a mechanical coupling as a driving aid for driving the auto-blow switch, wherein the piston 1 can be designed in particular as a differential piston.
- FIG. 3 shows a further variant of the auto - blow switch according to the invention in the ON position.
- the parts corresponding to the parts of the variant according to FIG. 1 are designated according to FIG. 3 in the same way as in FIG. 1.
- the main difference between the variant according to FIG. 3 and the variant according to FIG. 1 is that in the variant according to FIG. 3 the position-changing ring piston 1 is firmly connected to the first switching contact 6 and this thereby also carries out the position changes of the ring piston 1 .
- the coil 10a and the race 11 are held by means of a coil carrier 10 which is immovably connected to the tube 3a by means of detachable fixing parts 3g.
- the annular coil support 10 has an annular opening 10b.
- the coil 10a and the race 11 are arranged in alignment with the ring opening 10b.
- the annular coil support 10 is also provided with through holes 10c for the heated extinguishing gas.
- the first carried by the edge zone le of the ring opening If of the position-changing ring piston 1 Switching contact 6 is guided with its nozzle 6a in the ring opening 10b of the bobbin 10, a sliding seal 9 being arranged between the nozzle 6a and the bobbin 10 in the ring opening 10b.
- the spring 2 is clamped between the side Ib of the position-changing annular piston 1 facing away from the extinguishing gas and a detachable bearing part 12, the annular piston 1 being able to run up to the fixed coil carrier 10 in the axial direction.
- FIG. 4 shows a switch-off phase of the variant of the auto-blow switch according to FIG. 3, in which the switch-off arc 4 has just commutated from the first switching contact 6 to the race 11.
- the current to be switched off is of an order of magnitude which is not sufficient for the switch-off arc 4 to heat up the extinguishing gas in the compression space 3 to such an extent that the predetermined value of the pressure is reached, from which the annular piston is shown in FIG Starting position.
- the first switch contact 6 functions as a fixed switch contact while the second switch contact 8 is moved by the switch drive in the switch-off direction indicated by the arrow 14.
- the quenching gas heated by the switch-off arc 4 flows out as a result of the associated increase in the quenching gas pressure with simultaneous blowing of the arc 4 in the directions indicated by the flow arrows 16 into the two rooms 2a and 7e with a lower gas pressure than in the compression chamber 3.
- the respective free path cross section available to the blowing flow at this pressure equalization between the compression space 3 on the one hand and the spring space 2a and the gas space 7e on the other side on the insulating nozzle carrier depends not only on the respective spatial extent of the switch-off arc 4 but also, among other things also on the spatial shape and the respective mutual position of the switch parts delimiting the blowing flow.
- FIG. 5 shows the case for switching off a large current.
- a phase is shown in which the arc 4 has already commutated with its one base point from the first switching 'contact 6 to the race 11.
- the pressure of the quenching gas heated by the arc 4 in the compression space 3 reaches a value which exceeds the value up to which the positionally variable annular piston 1 remains in its rest position due to the action of the spring 2.
- the all-round effective pressure in the compression chamber 3 of the heated extinguishing gas presses the position-changing piston 1 together with the first switching contact 6 in the direction of the pressure arrows 17 from its rest position shown in FIG. 4, the compression spring 2 being compressed.
- the extinguishing gas is heated up by a switch-off arc 4, which, before it is commutated, not only by the movement of the second switch contact 8 in the direction of the arrow 14 but also by the movement of the first switch contact 6 in the direction of the arrows 17 in its
- the length has been increased, as a comparison of FIGS. 4 and 5 shows, where, with the same distance between the free end 8b of the second switching contact 8 and the race 11 when switching off according to FIG. 5, the distance between the free end 6c of the first switching contact 6 on the one hand and the free end 8b of the second switching contact 8, on the other hand, is considerably larger than when switching off according to FIG. 4.
- Another advantage of the auto-blow switch according to the invention is, in particular, that under certain circumstances even with relative Small axial change in position of the annular piston 1 due to the resulting additional extension of the switch-off arc 4 increases the arc voltage accordingly and the commutation of the switch-off arc 4 is thereby improved.
- FIG. 6 shows the same switch variant as shown in FIG. 5, with the only difference that at least one radial blow opening 13 is provided between the support part 5c of the coil 10a and the race 11.
- a switch is implemented which, in view of the switching off of ever larger currents with the aid of auto-blow switches, contrary to the general view of the knowledge that the current-dependent extinguishing capacity of auto-blow switches does not occur at higher currents increasingly larger extinguishing gas pressures can be improved, but that a limitation of the extinguishing gas pressure with simultaneous short-side pressure storage and subsequent
Abstract
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft einen elektrischen Selbstblasschalter gemäss Oberbegriff des Patentanspruches 1.The invention relates to an electrical auto-blow switch according to the preamble of
From CH-PS 574 673 an electrical gas blast switch is known a device in addition to a self-pressure generation by the arc on the magnetic influence 'of the arc is provided in the. This switch has a fixed contact piece, which is surrounded by a coil through which the breaking current can flow, with the coil having one end connected to the current supply of the fixed contact piece and the other end having an intermediate electrode or in the area of the free end of the fixed contact piece Race for part of the arc is connected. The fixed switching element, in particular designed as a tulip contact, works together with a movable switching element, the upper or free part of which is designed as a nozzle tube. This nozzle tube connects the arc space of the switching chamber of the gas switch with another space, in which the overpressure of the filling gas generated by the arc compensates as a blowing flow.
' The invention is based on the object of developing the known electric gas switch so that the current-dependent extinguishing capacity of such a generic auto-blow switch is improved while maintaining its dimensions using the simplest possible means.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the invention specified in
The advantages achieved with the invention according to
It is particularly advantageous to further develop the auto-blow switch according to
Furthermore, it is expedient to design the auto-blow switch according to
It is further recommended to design the auto-blow switch according to
In addition, it is particularly advantageous to design the auto-blow switch according to
In a further development of the auto-blow switch according to
It is also advisable to design the auto-blow switch according to
Fig. 1 shows the diagram of an electrical auto-blow switch according to the invention, in which the position-dependent part of the limitation of the compression space of the switch depending on the pressure of the extinguishing gas has the shape of an annular piston and is designated by 1. The wall of the positionally variable
In the area of the one
In the area of the
Schaltkammer.Accordingly, in the switching phase shown in FIG. 2, the current to be switched off flows through the
The parts corresponding to the parts of the variant according to FIG. 1 are designated according to FIG. 3 in the same way as in FIG. 1. The main difference between the variant according to FIG. 3 and the variant according to FIG. 1 is that in the variant according to FIG. 3 the position-changing
In contrast to the switch-off phase according to FIG. 4, FIG. 5 shows the case for switching off a large current. Here, a phase is shown in which the
Verbesserung der Kommutierung sowie Kühlung des Ausschaltlichtbogens 4 bewirkt.FIG. 6 shows the same switch variant as shown in FIG. 5, with the only difference that at least one radial blow opening 13 is provided between the
By means of the above-described variants or the auto-blow switch according to the invention, a switch is implemented which, in view of the switching off of ever larger currents with the aid of auto-blow switches, contrary to the general view of the knowledge that the current-dependent extinguishing capacity of auto-blow switches does not occur at higher currents increasingly larger extinguishing gas pressures can be improved, but that a limitation of the extinguishing gas pressure with simultaneous short-side pressure storage and subsequent
