Abstract

Since the customary heating boxes which are used above all in tiled stoves are made only of sheet metal, they cool down relatively quickly. In order to achieve the longest possible heat retention power, according to the invention they are lined with fireclay bricks.

Description

In order to be able to at least partially utilize the heat of the flue gases, heating boxes are connected above all to tiled stoves, through which the flue gases are led. The heating boxes heat up and this heat is released into the living rooms. In many cases, these heating boxes are provided with baffles, especially when the boxes are high, so that even longer amounts of heat can be extracted from the flue gases on the longer path. The known heating boxes are made entirely of sheet metal and as a result they cool down relatively quickly. But this is seen as a disadvantage, particularly in the case of tiled stoves where long post-heating outputs are required.

In order to achieve a greater post-heating output, the heating box is bricked up according to the invention, in particular with firebricks. These stones store the heat and release it even longer after the stove has been switched off. In order to achieve the brick lining in the simplest possible way and, above all, to be able to make it only at the construction site, the heating box is provided with a removable, in particular screwable, cover according to a further feature of the invention. The heating box is then delivered without brick lining. At the construction site, the cover is removed, the lining is carried out and then the cover is replaced. An asbestos seal is provided between the cover and the lower part in order to achieve a smoke-tight seal. To fix the cover, an angle frame provided with screw bolts is expediently arranged on the upper part of the subframe.

The drawing shows an embodiment of the heating box according to the invention in the form of an exploded view.

The heating box is composed of the bottom 1 and the jacket 2, these parts being welded together.

At the upper end of the jacket 2, an angular frame 3 is attached, which is provided with a larger number of bolts 4. With the interposition of the asbestos seal 5, the upper lid part 6 is screwed onto the lower lid part. The removable top cover 6 makes it possible to subsequently brick the heating box with fireclay bricks, not shown. A baffle plate 7 can also be arranged within the heating box, which can also consist of firebricks.
