Abstract

A toilet is constructed such that the toilet seat is rotatably arranged with respect to its circumferential direction. The toilet seat comprises a stationary part and a rotating part. The rotating part forms the seating surface of the toilet seat and is internally provided with a substantially conical circular track for engaging substantially conical bearing surfaces of rollers rotating about a substantially vertical axis and mounted in laterally translatable roller carrying members. The rotatable part of the toilet seat is driven by a round belt or cord cooperating with a pulley-like groove therein. A device for the liquid cleaning and disinfecting of the seat surface only extends over a segment of the toilet seat. During the seat cleaning operation the toilet seat is moved by the belt or cord. By means of the cleaning device there is accomplished cleaning of the toilet seat.

Description

The present invention relates to a water closet according to the preamble of claim 1.

A No. 592645 describes and shows a water closet with an arrangement for cleaning the seat. During cleaning, the toilet seat is driven in the circumferential direction by an electric motor. The drive force is transmitted to a ring gear by means of a gearwheel, the ring gear being arranged laterally below the edge of the toilet seat. This arrangement also has a cleaning body which comprises a segment of the toilet seat. Water or a disinfectant is used to clean the seat and elements to dry the seat.

Other solutions are also known. For example, in DE-A No. 2244049 the toilet seat is also driven by an electric motor during cleaning, but the possibility of using a manual drive is also mentioned. FR-A No. 1147836 also contains a solution where a turbine driven by the rinsing water drives a ventilation fan, thereby ventilating the inside of the bowl.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the object of eliminating the disadvantages of the known and forming a water closet according to the preamble of claim 1 in such a way that the seat is kept simple and sufficiently robust and is reliably driven during cleaning.

The above object is achieved by the features of claim 1.

The advantage of the invention is, in particular, that the device intended for cleaning has small dimensions and can work automatically without lifting in relation to the rotatable position of the toilet seat. In addition, this results in a high level of economy with little susceptibility to faults because the toilet seat is held or driven by the drive and support rollers over the seat surface and the lower surface.

Advantageous developments of the invention are described in the subclaims and are explained below with the aid of schematic drawings.

Ein weiterer Kanal 30 dient der Wasserabfuhr.FIG. 4 shows the turbine or the drive wheel 25 from FIG. 3 in a side view. The drive wheel 25, a rudimentary turbine wheel, has eight functional surfaces 26, one of which is also visible in FIG. 3. The drive wheel 25 is in egg Nem cavity stored in a body 28. A channel 29 is provided for the drive water supply. Another channel 30 is used for water drainage.

The functioning of the subject matter of the invention is as follows:
  • When rinsing, part of the rinse water is used for three functions. The drive wheel 25 is driven, with which the toilet seat 1 is moved via the transport roller 3. At the same time, the cam 20 coupled to the drive wheel 25 also rotates, so that a certain amount of air is pumped into the storage container 18 via the lever 21, which air releases a corresponding dose, for example 1.5 ml, of the disinfectant into the channel 15 from the storage container 18 expresses. Further parts of the rinse water are passed through the channel and the nozzle 13 into the space 12 for water purification and through the channel and the nozzle 15 into the space 14 for disinfection, the water being mixed with the disinfectant in the channel 15.

As shown in Fig. 1, the toilet seat 1 moves in this exemplary embodiment from right to left in the direction of the arrows. The seat 1 'to be cleaned and disinfected first enters the space 12 for water purification. The nozzle 13 extends obliquely to the left, so that the water is prevented from flowing out to the right. The water used flows to the side of the toilet seat 1 (ie according to FIG. 1 behind and in front of the toilet seat 1) into the collecting space 16 and the drain channel 17. In the direction of the rotary movement, the space 12 is delimited with the rubber seal 11, so that the water does not between can penetrate roles 3 and 7. The rubber seal 11 also acts as a scraper, so that in the room 14 the seat surface is sprayed with highly concentrated disinfectant and is thus disinfected properly. This space is also limited in the direction of the rotational movement of the toilet seat 1 with a further rubber seal, so that the seat 1 'outside the transport and cleaning body 2 is clean and dry.

Of course, the drive wheel 25, the gears 22 and 23, the transport roller 3, the cam 20, the lever 21 and the air pump 19 are designed such that the toilet seat 1 is transported in its entirety through the cleaning body 2, during this movement both rooms 12 and 14 are supplied with appropriate liquids.

The subject matter of the invention is of course not limited to what is shown in the drawing. Thus, the device shown can be designed as a construction unit with the rinsing water reservoir. Another metering device known per se can be used, e.g. a water powered piston pump.

The device can also work with a single cleaning chamber. This single cleaning stage or also the channel 13 for the water supply, in the exemplary embodiment Fig. 1, can e.g. a commercially available liquid household cleaning agent.

A pump that works according to the ejector principle is suitable for this.

The device can be fixed or tiltable.

The mode of operation can also be different from what has been described, for example. If the rinsing water is under low pressure, cleaning can only be carried out after rinsing. In this case, part of the water flowing into the rinsing water reservoir is used for the drive and cleaning.

Instead of an exchangeable or refillable storage container 18, a spray can known per se could also be used.
