Description

The present invention relates to a gas pressure switch according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a switch is known, for example, from "Brown Boveri Mitt.", 64, 1977 (11), p. 629, Figure 1. In this switch, an insulating nozzle and the blowing cylinder of the compression device are attached to the movable extinguishing current switch, which must be moved together with the movable extinguishing current switch during each switching operation. The relatively large moving masses cause an undesirable contact bounce when switched on and delay the separation speed of the contacts when switched off.

From FR-A 2346841 a compressed gas switch with a fixed and a comparatively large mass, movable extinguishing current switching piece is known, in which the erosion contact of the moving extinguishing current switching element inside this switching element is arranged displaceably in the direction of its movement and in the switched-on position both the erosion contact of the fixed one Extinguishing current contact contacted as well as under the action of a loaded spring. At its free end, the movable quenching current switch shows parts which act as contact elements and which are supported in the switched-on position on the fixed quenching current switch and in the switched-off position on the erosion contact of the movable quenching current switch. With this switch, the bouncing of the movable extinguishing current switching element is reduced when the spring-loaded erosion contact hits the fixed extinguishing current switching element when it is switched on.

The same also applies to a pressure gas switch known from DE-B 1 156143, in which a spring-loaded tube, which is arranged in a hollow movable contact piece and is displaceable in its direction of movement and acts as a burn-up contact, reduces the contact bounce by prior impact on a fixed contact piece, but not prevents the moving contact from subsequently colliding with the fixed contact.

It is an object of the invention to provide a gas pressure switch of the type mentioned at the outset, which does not have the disadvantages of the known switch and in which contact bouncing is not only reduced to a desired extent, but is almost completely avoided.

According to the invention, the aforementioned object is achieved by the characterizing features of patent claim 1.

In the compressed gas switch according to the invention, only the first part of the contact of the movable extinguishing current switching piece, which is designed as a stroke contact, meets the contact of the fixed extinguishing current switching piece when switched on. Since the mass of this part is almost negligible compared to the masses of the movable extinguishing current switching element, the movable part of the compression device and the insulating nozzle, contact bounce is almost avoided. In addition, it is advantageous that the second part of the stroke contact, which is rigidly connected to the carrier part of the extinguishing current switching element, "only serves to accommodate the base point of the switching arc, since this avoids unnecessary mechanical friction between the extinguishing contacts. Because part of the drive energy required for switching off If the spring-loaded circuit breaker is already in a charged spring accumulator, a high separation speed of the extinguishing current switching elements and therefore a short arcing time is achieved. The compressed gas switch is not only extremely easy to repair, but is also characterized by the fact that the dynamic current forces that occur when switching on are almost complete be eliminated.

An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in simplified form in the drawing.

The figure shows a plan view of a longitudinal section through the circuit breaker according to the invention, this switch being shown in the left half of the figure when switched on and in the right half of the figure when switched off.

In the figure, the numbers 10 and 11 denote power connections of the pressure gas switch. A spring-mounted nominal current contact 20 is connected to the current connection 10 and, in the switched-on state, leads the nominal current to the current connection 11 via a movable nominal current contact 21, which is designed as a blowing cylinder of a compression device in the lower part. A fixed, cylindrical extinguishing current switching piece 30 has a hollow carrier part 31 provided with openings 33 and a contact 32 attached to the end of the carrier part 31. With this fixed contact 32, a movable extinguishing current switching piece 40 is in front contact in the switched-on position. The movable extinguishing current switching element 40 has a support part 41 provided with openings 43 and a stroke contact 42.

The stroke contact 42 has an axially displaceably arranged contact device in the interior of the carrier part 41, comprising a pressure ring 421 and contact finger 422, and an annular erosion ring 423 fastened to the end face of the carrier part 41 facing the fixed extinguishing current switching element 30. The pressure ring 421 is provided with ball heads 424, which press the contact fingers 422 against the inner wall of the carrier part 41 under the action of a spring 50. The inner diameter of the annular erosion ring 423 is larger than the outer diameter of the contact 32 of the fixed extinguishing current switching piece 30 and smaller than the outside diameter of the axially displaceably arranged contact device of the movable extinguishing current switching element 40.

Der Kanal 71 und die ringförmige Düsenöffnung werden durch das bewegliche Löschstromschaltstück 40 und eine das Löschstromschaltstück 40 mit Abstand umgebende Isolierstoffdüse 70 gebildet.60 denotes a fixed blow piston, which, like the nominal current contact 21 connected to the carrier part 41 of the movable extinguishing current switching element 40 via conductive connecting webs 61, belongs to a compression device for compressed gas. This compressed gas is passed through a channel 71 and an annular nozzle opening to the arc drawn when switching off. The channel 71 and the annular nozzle opening are formed by the movable extinguishing current switching element 40 and an insulating material nozzle 70 surrounding the extinguishing current switching element 40 at a distance.

The mode of operation of the compressed gas switch according to the invention is as follows:
  • When switching off, the movable rated current contact 21 and the movable quenching current switch 40 are moved downward. As soon as the contact between the nominal current contacts 20 and 21 is removed, the current commutates to the extinguishing current switching elements 30, 40 and now flows from the current connection 10 via the carrier part 31 and the contact 32, the contact fingers 422, the carrier part 41, the connecting webs 61 and the nominal current contact 21 to the power connection 11. Since the inside diameter of the erosion ring 423 is smaller than the outside diameter of the contact fingers 422 of the movable extinguishing current switching element 40, after further downward movement of the movable extinguishing current switching element 40, the erosion ring 423 strikes against the fixed extinguishing contact 32 by the pressure ring 421 and the spring 50 pressed contact finger 422, whereby they are also moved downward. The erosion ring 423 is now designed such that the arc drawn by the downward movement of the contact fingers 422 between the contact fingers and the contact 32 only remains on the contact fingers 422 for a short time compared to the switch-off time. To achieve this, the erosion ring 423 is such that the distance between the erosion ring 423 and the contact 32 of the fixed extinguishing current switching element 30 after the contact fingers 422 have been lifted off from the contact 32 is smaller than the distance between the contact fingers 422 and the contact 32 during the further path of the movable extinguishing current switching element 40. As a result, the arc burns only between the erosion ring 423 and the fixed contact 32.

The arc is blown by the compressed gas flow which begins after the extinguishing current switching elements 30, 40 have been separated via the channel 71 and the annular nozzle opening. This compressed gas flow is particularly intensive in that the compressed gas was precompressed before the two extinguishing flow switching elements 30, 40 were separated. Since the contact fingers 422, like the contact 32, delimit a nozzle-shaped opening, the arc base points are blown particularly intensively via the hollow carrier parts 31, 41 and the openings 33, 43 before the pressure gas is removed. The drive of the movable extinguishing current switching element 40 is supported by the loaded spring 50 acting in the switch-off direction, as a result of which a high separation speed of the extinguishing current switching elements 30, 40 is achieved.

Figure imgb0001
When switched on, the movable extinguishing current switching piece 40 is moved in the opposite direction. A switch-on arc that may occur is drawn between the erosion ring 423 and the fixed contact 32. When the contact fingers 422 strike the contact 32, this arc disappears. Since the contact fingers 422 and the pressure ring 421 are the only parts which are braked here, and since these parts have only a very low mass compared to the mass of the other moving parts and are also under the action of the now tensioned spring 50, there is no need Contact bounces almost completely. The repulsive forces caused by the inrush current are overcome by the force of the tensioned spring 50. After completion of the switch-on process, the spring 50 is charged with potential energy, which is now available again for the switch-off process.
