Description

The invention relates to a packaging made of thermoformed plastic film for holding eggs, fruits or the like, consisting of two essentially identical halves, preferably interconnected by a web, with insertion troughs for holding the goods to be packaged, and with push-button-like interlocking shapes, whereby the packaging halves are connected to one another at sections of their edge by gluing, welding or the like, in the area of which parts of the packaging are provided with a tear line, weakening groove, perforation or the like.

A packaging of this type is described and shown in AT-PS 342 493. In this prior art, the plastic film is provided with a weakening zone in the region of the formation of at least one of the packaging halves, the strength of which is less than the closing force of the form-fitting interlocking formations. The disadvantage of this known embodiment is that when the packaging is opened the effect of the interlocking interlocking formations is lost, because at least one of the two forming parts loses cohesion with the rest of the packaging due to the tearing of the weakened zone. Although it is immediately clear with these known packages whether they have already been opened or not, the reuse of the package once opened is questioned because the destroyed, snap-button-like interlocking formations can no longer hold the two package halves together. The reuse of the packaging is desirable in most cases.

A package with push-button-like interlocking shapes on the packaging halves is also known from US Pat. No. 3,356,277. However, this known embodiment relates only to facilitating the closing and opening of the packaging. It is not recognizable whether the packaging has already been opened or not.

From US Pat. No. 3,162,352 the idea of reclosing with a tear line to indicate that the opening has taken place is already present, but with this prior art the realization takes place with completely different means.

The invention has for its object to design the securing elements of a package of the type described above so that the package can be opened by tearing it open and the connecting elements retain their function even after the first opening and so the reuse of the package is possible in a proper manner.

This is achieved according to the invention in that the sections connected to one another by adhesive bonding, welding or the like are formed by tabs projecting beyond the edge of the packaging halves and connected to this edge by means of a tear line, weakening groove, perforation or the like, which are preferably opposite the two packaging halves connecting web.

In such a configuration, the security against unauthorized opening is separated from the usual connecting elements, so that the connecting elements are not damaged when the package is opened, and therefore the packaging can be closed and thus properly reused. It is easy to tear open the packaging because the tear point is weakened and predetermined.

A particularly favorable embodiment results if the tab is provided with a tear-off tongue.

  • Fig. 1 einen Schnitt durch eine erfindungsgemässe Verpackung,
  • Fig. 3 und 4 zwei weitere Ausführungsformen im Schnitt.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown in three exemplary embodiments. Show it:
  • 1 shows a section through a packaging according to the invention,
  • Fig. 2 shows a detail of this packaging in perspective and
  • 3 and 4 two further embodiments in section.

The packaging consists of the two packaging halves 1, 2, which are articulated to one another at their longitudinal edges by means of a web 3. The design of this packaging with the usual connecting elements is known, does not form part of the invention and therefore need not be described in more detail.

On the edges 4, 5 of the packaging halves 1, 2 opposite the web 3, tabs 6, 7 are formed, each with a linear perforation 8, 9, in order to be able to bring the tabs 6, 7 into their final position more easily than also to enable them to be separated from the packaging halves 1, 2.

After the packaging and the halves 1, 2 have been filled, the underside 10 of the flap 7 is bent upward around the perforation 9 and the flap 6 is pressed downward around the perforation 8 and pressed against the flaps 7 provided with the adhesive application. A two-component adhesive can also be provided, one component being applied to the surface 10 and the other to the surface 11 of the flap 6.

As can be seen from FIG. 2, the tabs 6 and 7 can be provided with tongues 12, 13 which remain free from the application of adhesive. If the packaging is to be opened, the tongues 12, 13 or a single one of them can be gripped and the tabs 6, 7 glued to one another can be separated from the packaging along the perforation 8, 9.

With this training, unauthorized opening of the packaging is immediately recognizable. A new connection according to the invention of the two packaging halves after the Strips 6, 7 are not possible, but the packaging can be reused by the buyer of the goods, as is desirable in many households, because the usual connecting elements are undamaged. It is sufficient if only a single cloth is provided on one half of the package, provided that a corresponding adhesive surface is provided on the other half of the package. An example for this embodiment is shown in FIG. The packaging is opened here in such a way that the perforation 9 is severed.

A simplified embodiment is shown in FIG. 4. The packaging halves 1, 2 are provided with flanges 15, 16, perforations 17, 18 being provided at the transition. The flanges 15, 16 can be firmly connected to one another by appropriate application of adhesive. The packaging can be opened by severing both flanges along the perforation 17, 18.

The tabs according to the invention can also be attached to the edges of the packaging adjacent to the web 3. With a correspondingly powerful design, the invention can replace the usual push-button connection of the two packaging halves.

Instead of gluing, welding can of course also take place. 4 also enables the flanges 15, 16 to be connected by means of eyelets or other connecting means, which, however, must be designed in such a way that their removal is not possible or recognizable without damaging the flanges.
