Description
- L'invention a pour objet un procédé de nettoyage de véhicules du genre des wagons de chemin de fer, autobus et camions.
- Elle vise également, en tant que produit industriel, la composition mise en oeuvre dans le cadre du procédé.
- Le nettoyage des véhicules du genre en question comporte non seulement le lavage des vitres mais aussi celui des carrosseries dont il convient d'enlever, d'une part, les salissures de toute origine et notamment les particules métalliques provenant de l'abrasion des rails, des bandages de roues, des sabots de frein, des fils de contact, les salissures de silicate, les particules de graisse, d'huile et de noir de fumée, d'autre part, les traces d'oxyde, voire de rouille tant sur les parties métalliques que sur les peintures.
- On a déjà proposé pour ce type de nettoyage, que ce soit par voie manuelle ou par jet avec brossage, d'avoir recours à des compositions à base d'acide oxalique. Ces compositions donnent toute satisfaction sur le plan de l'efficacité sauf en ce qui concerne les vitres sur lesquelles subsiste un voile après rinçage, mais sont dangereuses pour l'utilisateur et posent des problèmes de rejet.
- On a également proposé d'utiliser des compositions à base d'esters mono- et di-alcoylphosphoriques à chaîne courte en Ci à C3. Ces produits ne présentent pas tous les inconvénients des compositions à base d'acide oxalique mais ne sont pas d'une efficacité suffisante, cette efficacité étant appréciée par un ensemble d'aptitudes à l'élimination des salissures, à la désoxydation des parties rouillées, au nettoyage des vitres tant en opération manuelle que par jet suivi de brossage.
- L'invention a donc pour but, surtout, de remédier à ces inconvénients et de fournir un procédé et une composition donnant satisfaction sur tous les plans.
- Or, la Société demanderesse a trouvé, à l'issue de ses recherches, que, de façon inattendue, la mise en oeuvre simultanément à celle des susdits esters mono- et di-alcoyl-phosphoriques d'une quantité efficace d'acide alcanephosphonique permettait d'enregistrer des résultats comparables à ceux obtenus avec les compositions à base d'acide oxalique, sans présenter les inconvénients de celles-ci et sans laisser subsister sur les vitres un voile après rinçage. Ce résultat est très surprenant dans la mesure où il est supérieur à la somme des effets enregistrés avec les esters phosphoriques, d'une part, et les acides alcanephosphoniques, d'autre part, dont certains ont déjà été proposés pour être utilisés seuls pour les nettoyages visés par le procédé conforme à l'invention.
- Il s'ensuit que l'invent;on a pour objet un procédé de nettoyage par opération manuelle ou par jet suivi de brossage des véhicules, mettant en oeuvre en milieu acide, notamment à pH inférieur à 3, en présence d'un agent tensio-actif, de préférence non ionique ou anionique, notamment à la température ordinaire, une quantité efficace d'ester mono- ou dialcoyl-phosphorique en Ci à C3, caractérisé par le fait qu'il met simultanément en œuvre une quantité efficace d'au moins un composé choisi parmi les acides alcanephosphoniques et leurs esters de formule :
- Les compositions de nettoyage visées par l'invention et mises en oeuvre dans le cadre du susdit procédé comprennent, à l'état concentré, au sein d'une solution aqueuse acide notamment à pH inférieur à3:
- ― de 10 à 30 % en poids d'un ester phosphorique mono- ou dialcoylé en C1 à C3,
- - de 1 à 20 % en poids d'un agent tensio-actif, de préférence non ionique ou anionique, notamment de la série des alcoylarylsufonates,
- - éventuellement des agents séquestrants tels que l'acide citrique et des solvants tels que les alcools et polyols et sont caractérisées par le fait qu'elles comprennent en outre
- - de 1 à 20 % en poids, de préférence de 2 à 10 % en poids, d'au moins un composé choisi parmi les acides alcanephosphoniques et leurs esters de formule :
- Les compositions conformes à l'invention, prêtes à être mises en oeuvre dans le cadre du susdit procédé, sont obtenues par dilution aqueuse à partir des concentrés susdéfinis, notamment dans une proportion de 1 à 5.
- Les acides phosphoniques ayant donné de bons résultats dans le cadre des susdits procédé et compositions sont en particulier ceux du groupe comprenant :
- - l'acide hydroxyméthylphosphonique
- - l'acide hydroxypropylphosphonique
- - l'acide chloroéthylphosphonique
- - l'acide octylphosphonique
- - l'acide éthyl- et butylphosphonique
- - l'acide 1-hydroxyéthylidène-1,1-diphosphonique
- - l'acide amino-tri (méthylène phosphonique).
- L'invention pourra être encore mieux comprise à l'aide du complément de description qui suit.
- On a procédé à un ensemble d'essais comparatifs en ayant recours :
- - à une composition à base d'acide oxalique,
- - à une composition à base d'esters mono- ou dialcoylphosphoriques,
- - à diverses compositions selon l'invention.
- La composition diluée à base d'acide oxalique (essai N° 1) comprenait :
- - 4 % en poids d'acide oxalique,
- - 1,4 % d'un tensio-actif non ionique,
- - 3 % de polyglycol,
- - 1,1 % de tensio-actif anionique,
- ―91,5 % d'eau.
- La composition à base d'esters phosphoriques comprenait à l'état concentré (composition A) :
- - 20 % en poids d'ester méthylique de l'acide phosphorique,
- - 5 % d'agent tensio-actif constitué par un nonylphénol à 10 unités d'oxyde d'éthylène connu sous la marque « CEMUSOL NP 10» (RHONE PROGIL),
- - 5 % d'agent tensio-actif anionique connu sous la marque « HOSTAPUR SAS 60 (HOECHST), du type alcanesulfonate de sodium,
- ― q.s.p. 100 % en poids d'eau.
- Les compositions concentrées conformes à l'invention ont été obtenues à partir de la composition à base d'ester phosphorique venant d'être définie à laquelle on fait comprendre respectivement :
- - 2 % en poids d'acide hydroxyméthylphosphonique (composition B)
- - 5 % en poids d'acide hydroxyméthylphosphonique (composition C)
- - 5 % en poids d'acide chloroéthylphosphonique (composition D)
- - 5 % en poids d'acide amino-tri (méthylène phosphonique) (composition E)
- -10% en poids d'acide amino-tri (méthylène phosphonique) (composition F).
- Pour les essais comparatifs (II à VII), les compositions concentrées susdites A à F ont été respectivement diluées à raison de 1 à 5 avec de l'eau.
- Toutes les compositions diluées ont été mises en oeuvre de la manière suivante :
- - enduction à la brosse des parties à nettoyer, le temps d'action chimique étant de 15 minutes,
- - action mécanique de brossage pendant 10 minutes,
- - rinçage à l'eau du robinet.

- A l'examen de ces résultats, on constate que les performances des compositions conformes à l'invention sont comparables à celles enregistrées avec l'acide oxalique sans présenter les inconvénients de celui-ci.
- On a mis en oeuvre les compositions des essais I à VII en utilisant une machine automatique et après les avoir diluées une nouvelle fois dans une proportion de 1 à 6. La vitesse de défilement de la rame a été de 5 km/h et les résultats enregistrés se situent respectivement de la même manière que dans le cas de l'application non automatique susdéfinie.
- En suite de quoi et quel que soit le mode de réalisation adopté, on dispose ainsi d'un procédé et d'une composition de nettoyage de véhicules dont les caractéristiques résultent de ce qui précède et qui sont dépourvues des inconvénients inhérents aux procédés et compositions de l'art antérieur.
