Definitions
- the invention relates to a holding device for tubular vessels, preferably for reaction or sample vessels for the pretreatment of biological test material, in particular according to the radio immunoassay (RIA) technique.
- a holding device for tubular vessels preferably for reaction or sample vessels for the pretreatment of biological test material, in particular according to the radio immunoassay (RIA) technique.
- RIA radio immunoassay
- Holders for tubular vessels of this type are mainly used in clinical chemistry and pharmacology.
- the area of application of radio-immunological working technology that is particularly considered is divided into sample pretreatment, consisting of operations such as pipetting, shaking or rotating, centrifuging, incubating, decanting or suctioning, and sample counting, i.e. the counting of the radioactive impulses of the prepared test material in a ⁇ or r radiation measuring device.
- sample pretreatment is known to require the processing of a large number of individual samples under conditions that are as uniform as possible.
- the examinations are carried out in such a way that work such as pipetting, shaking, rotating and sample counting are carried out mechanically, while the transfer of the sample vessels from one work step to the other must be carried out manually.
- sample vessels are held together - and in which way they can ultimately be transferred into the cell chamber of the radiation measuring device.
- Cell devices without sample carriers and cell devices with sample carriers are known for the transport of the sample vessels for introduction into the radiation measuring device.
- the sample pretreatment and the sample counting are carried out in the same, mostly cassette-like holding devices. Only selected sample vessels specified by the dimensions of the measuring cell can be used.
- Cell devices with sample carriers have special containers in the cassettes to hold the sample vessels. This has the advantage that all commercially available reaction vessel sizes can be used. In addition, protection of the measuring cell from contamination is ensured by the carrier.
- the invention has for its object to improve the known holding devices for tubular vessels of the type described in such a way that a partially automated operation is possible.
- the solution to the problem set by the invention is that the holding device consists of two spaced plates, of which the upper inlet openings and the lower outlet openings for a plurality of vessels, and that between the plates a common one on each vessel attacking, unlockable holding device is arranged.
- the holding device according to the invention consequently permits a grouping of sample vessels combined into units, as a result of which the largest possible number, approximately fifty to one hundred, of sample vessels can be transferred from one operation to another up to sample counting in a handy manner at the same time.
- the samples are inserted into the multi-purpose holding device according to the invention, in which the positioning of the holding elements of each tubular vessel is designed such that the position of the samples corresponds to the position of the carrier of a block of assembled cassettes of the radiation measuring device.
- the holding device according to the invention is a multi-purpose holder, because all work of sample pretreatment can be carried out in this multi-purpose holder.
- the holding device according to the invention makes it possible in the first place to treat as large a number of sample vessels as possible simultaneously in a centrifuge. To count the samples, the holding device according to the invention is simply placed on the cassettes of the radiation measuring device and, by unlocking the holding device, all sample vessels are let down into the cassettes of the measuring device.
- Another advantage of the holding device according to the invention is that a connection element between the sample pretreatment and the sample counting is available for the more flexibly usable radiation measuring devices with sample carrier, which enables a partially automated operation. Each work step is carried out for all samples at exactly the same time under exactly the same conditions. The transfer of all sample vessels into the radiation measuring device requires only a few simple steps. A marking of each individual sample vessel can be omitted because of the unchanged " positioning in the holding device according to the invention.
- the holding device according to the invention thus allows a greater quality of work in laboratory work with less work, since it proves to be a multi-purpose holder.
- the inlet and outlet openings have a teardrop shape and the drop shoulder is formed from two straight lines, preferably arranged at right angles to one another. This has the advantage that the tubular vessels can be clamped in an absolutely vertical position.
- the holding device has a leaf spring as the holding element for each vessel. Since each vessel is thus held individually and resiliently, the tolerances that are permissible in the manufacture of the vessels can be compensated for.
- the arranged between the plates, common, engaging on each vessel, unlockable holding device of the invention is designed in an advantageous embodiment of the invention such that on the one hand the leaf springs arranged side by side are held in a slot of each shaft and the shafts arranged one behind the other at their ends in two vertical, the upper and lower plate spacing strips are rotatably mounted and that each shaft has an obliquely downward connecting pin which engages in a common to all shafts, movable between an unlocking and a locking position control rail for the leaf springs. It is therefore only necessary to actuate this control rail in order to clamp all vessels which can be plugged into the holding device.
- the joint unlocking of all vessels which enables their easy transfer into the radiation measuring device, is realized according to the invention in such a way that the holding device has two carrying handles arranged perpendicular to the upper plate, one of which is mounted on the locking bar and can be tilted about a horizontal axis carries the two locking levers.
- the tiltable handle can be equipped with an appropriate safety device.
- a preferred embodiment of the holding device according to the invention can be seen from the two stored patterns.
- the dimensions of the holding device are of course chosen so that they are for inclusion in a centrifuge, a vibrator or rotator or in an incubation bath.
- baseboards are attached to the underside of the lower plate on the two narrow sides of the holding device. These and the two baseboards arranged between them are each designed in such a way that the required hold is ensured if the holding device is placed, for example, on a block of assembled cassettes of a radiation measuring device in order to close all vessels in the radiation measuring device by means of a simple handle convict.
- the holding device according to the invention is that the inlet and outlet openings of the two plates are selected so that they can accommodate vessels of different diameters, e.g. 8 to 12 mm are suitable. It goes without saying that the vessels can be arranged by means of the holding device according to the invention in such a way that the positioning of the samples in the holding device according to the invention corresponds to the required positioning of the carriers of a block of assembled cassettes of the radiation measuring device.
- the vessels are inserted into the holding device according to the invention after the holding device has been brought into its locking position.
- the holding device consists of two plates 1, 2 held at a distance from one another (see, for example, FIGS. 1 and 4).
- the upper plate 1 has inlet openings 3 and the lower plate 2 has inlet openings 4 (FIG. 8) for a large number of vessels 5.
- Between the plat ten 1, 2 is a common, on each vessel 5 engaging, unlockable holding device is arranged, the construction of which will be explained below.
- the inlet and outlet openings 3, 4 have a teardrop shape.
- the droplet attachment is formed from two straight lines 6, 7, preferably arranged at right angles to one another (FIG. 7).
- the holding device has a leaf spring 8 as a holding element for each vessel 5 (FIGS. 1 to 3, 7 and 11 and 12).
- the leaf springs 8 arranged side by side are each 9-held in a slot in a shaft.
- the shafts 9 arranged one behind the other are rotatably supported at their ends in two vertical strips which keep the upper and lower plates at a distance, of which the strip 10 can be seen in FIG.
- Each shaft 9 has an obliquely downward connecting pin 11 which engages in a control rail 12 for the leaf springs 8 which is common to all shafts 9 and which can be displaced perpendicularly to them between an unlocking and a locking position (FIGS. 11 and 12).
- the control rail 12 engages with one end on a locking bar 13 arranged perpendicular to it (FIG. 1).
- the locking bar 13 is under the action of a compression spring 14 which is guided in a tube 15 fastened on the upper side of the lower plate 2.
- the locking bar 13 has at each of its two ends a pivotably mounted locking lever 16, which can be locked by overcoming a spring pressure on a latch 17 fastened to the lower plate 2, as shown in detail in FIGS. 9 and 10.
- the holding device has two carrying handles 18, 19 arranged perpendicular to the upper plate 1 (FIGS. 5, 6).
- the carrying handle 19 is mounted on the locking bar 21 such that it can be tilted about a horizontal axis 20.
- the carrying handle 19 carries the two locking levers 22, 23. This embodiment has the advantage that the carrying handle 19 actuates the locking levers 22, 23 at the same time.
- the carrying device is also provided with baseboards 25, 26.
- additional baseboards can be provided in between.

Abstract
Description
- Figur 1 eine Draufsicht auf die erfindungsgemäße Haltevorrichtung, mit teilweise aufgeschnittener oberer Platte, im nicht gespannten Zustand;
- Figur 2 die Darstellung nach Figur 1 in gespanntem
- Zustand der Haltevorrichtung;
- Figur 3 eine abgewandelte Ausführungsform in Draufsicht;
- Figur 4 die Ausführungsform nach Figur 3 in Seitenansicht;
- Figur 6 eine Stirnansicht auf die andere Stirnseite der Ausführungsform nach Figur 3;
- Figur 7 einen Ausschnitt einer Draufsicht auf eine Haltevorrichtung mit eingespannten Probengefäßen;
- Figur 8 einen Schnitt der Darstellung nach Figur 7;
