Description

The invention relates to a coin store of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1.

The coins entered must be stored in service machines until the total amount to be paid is reached or exceeded. A coin store of the above Art is already known (CH-PS 600 453). For each coin type, this has a separate, rotatably mounted ring of at least approximately radially arranged, equidistantly distributed storage compartments, which at the same time also serve as final storage for the coin size in question. Such multi-part coin magazines, which also serve to issue change, must therefore have a relatively large storage capacity and, in addition, a safeguard against overfilling. As long as the demand for sorted collection is not made, such stores are too complex and also too slow. Furthermore, for the use of such memories in payphones, there is a demand for the smallest possible energy expenditure, which was still too great with the previously known memories. In addition, coin stores for receiving different coins of different sizes that can be entered in any order are also known (US Pat. No. 3,696,905). The invention has for its object to improve a coin storage of the type mentioned in such a way that it is simple and inexpensive to manufacture and can be operated with little energy.

The invention is characterized in claim 1 and further improvements are claimed in subclaims.

Dabei zeigen :

  • Figur 2 einen Seitenriss eines Münzspeichers.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. Show:
  • Figure 1 is an elevation and
  • Figure 2 is a side elevation of a coin store.

Zu diesem Zweck trägt der Boden 3 an seiner oberen Kante eine Zahnstange 8, in die ein Zahnritzel 9 einer weiter unten beschriebenen Antriebseinrichtung eingreift.1 and 2, a horizontal running rail 2 is attached to a vertical base plate 1, on which the bottom or longitudinal spar 3 of a rake 4 is suspended by means of rollers 5. The rake 4 consists of partitions 6 arranged parallel to one another, each forming a storage compartment 7 between them, all the walls 6 being connected to the bottom 3 of the rake 4. The whole rake 4 can be displaced step by step along the straight line perpendicular to the walls 6. For this purpose, the bottom 3 carries on its upper edge a rack 8, in which a pinion 9 of a drive device described below engages.

The storage compartments 7 are freely open at the top and bottom and thus each result in a continuous channel that is at least partially closed only on its essentially vertical end faces. For this purpose, one of the vertical end faces of the walls 6 is fastened to the floor 3 and the others are connected to one another by an end strip 10. The upper and lower horizontal boundary edges of the walls 6 form for each of the compartments 7 an input or an output opening for each coin 11 to be stored, as described below.

The rake 4 is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 after the first coin 11 has been received. The outermost storage compartment 7a of the rake 4 is located with its input opening below a feed channel 12 through which the coin 11 has entered the storage compartment 7a in free fall and stands on a fixed sliding plate 13. The surface of the slide plate 13 fastened to the base plate 1, on which the coin 11 rests, is arranged parallel to the direction of movement of the rake 4 and covers the dispensing opening of the compartment 7a located under the feed channel 12 as well as the dispensing openings of all those already loaded with a coin 11 Compartments 7 below. To this end, it extends in a straight line over the entire storage length of the rake 4. The sliding plate 13 ends between the compartment 7a located under the feed channel 12 and its compartment 7b adjacent in the return movement direction. It leaves the dispensing opening of the adjacent compartment 7b and the dispensing openings of all subsequent compartments 7 open at the bottom.

Unmittelbar neben dem erwähnten Ende des Gleitbleches 13 befindet sich eine Führung 14 zur Weiterleitung der aus dem Speicher ausgegebenen Münzen 11.Immediately next to the mentioned end of the sliding plate 13 there is a guide 14 for forwarding the coins 11 issued from the memory.

A Maltese cross gear 26, driven by an electric motor 25, is used to drive the rake 4, on its output axis the toothed pinion 9 for moving the rake 4 is arranged. The pinion engages in the rack 8. The electric motor 25 causes a storage movement in one direction of rotation and a return movement in the other direction of rotation, for which purpose it drives a control cam 27 which switches on the Maltese cross gear 26. Each electrical start pulse for the electric motor 25 causes a full rotation of the control cam 27 and thereby always a full division step of the rake 4 via a self-holding circuit with a contact actuated by the control cam 27 and not shown in the figures.

The coin store described works as follows:
  • Before a coin 11 is accepted, the rake 4 takes a step towards storing. The incoming coin 11 is stopped by the sliding plate 13 and remains in its compartment 7a. The compartments 7 are dimensioned according to the largest coin to be stored. A smaller coin is inclined somewhat, as is indicated in FIG. 1. Each additional one too storing coin 11 causes the rake 4 to move in the direction of storing, the coins already stored being shifted sideways.

As soon as a return command is issued, the rake 4 moves in the opposite direction. The coins are pushed over the end of the sliding plate 13 and leave the memory in free fall and in the reverse order to when they were entered.

The memory described manages with a much smaller amount of actuation energy than known memories. When using a Maltese cross gear, the starting current surge of the electric motor remains low, because it can start without a load and only carry out the switching step at full speed.

The acceleration forces also remain smaller than in the case of known stores, and nevertheless a very fast coin dispensing is possible because the coins 11 do not have to roll, but fall freely from the store. Due to the coins 11 lying at least partially obliquely in their compartment 7, not all coins 11 have to be accelerated at the same time during the step movement. Depending on their position, some are started a little earlier than the others, which requires a smaller acceleration force.
