The gear output wheels 37 and 44 are each arranged on the axis of the associated driven wheel 52; its storage is thus combined with that of the gearbox driven gear in the rocker 53. As a result of this combination of the above-mentioned bearings, the rockers 53 are at the same time part of the associated motor-gear unit 41 or 42, so that coupling parts are saved and a substantial reduction in weight is achieved.

Claims (3)

1. An electric motor-gear unit for driving rail vehicles, comprising a driving motor (1) and a reducing gear (28, 29, 36, 38) driven by said motor and acting on one or both wheel sets or directly on the wheels (52), characterized in that the motor armature (2) is supported on the drive shaft (4, 19, 24, 29, 30) of the gear (28, 29, 36, 38) in cantilever fashion and that the drive shaft is running in the gear housing (6, 18, 39, 51) in at least two oil-lubricated bearings (7), with the motor housing (5) and the gear housing (6, 18, 39, 51) being centrally positioned with respect to each other and connected by screws.
2. An electric motor-gear unit, according to claim 1, characterized in that the motor armature (2) includes a hollow shaft (3) which is slipped onto the extended portion of the driving shaft (4, 19, 29) of the gear and form-fitted and/or force-fitted thereto.
3. An electric motor-gear unit, according to claim 1, characterized in that the driving shaft (24) is a hollow shaft and the extended portion of the motor shaft (23) is slipped into the driving shaft and both shafts are form fitted and/or force-fitted to each other.
