Abstract
On the cylindrical wall of the burner body are provided openings for the passage of the combustible mixture, these openings being produced in the form of slots (5) having a minimum width and a reduced length. These slits (5) are grouped into groups themselves divided into parallel sub-groups, thereby giving rise to flame fans having a unique flame front opposite each group. This reduces the noise caused by the burner while guaranteeing great stability of the flame; the regularity of this flame proves to be advantageous both in terms of uniformity of operation and in terms of burner efficiency.
Description
The subject of the invention is a gas burner more particularly intended for liquid fuels and whose originality lies in that it comprises groups of openings for the passage of the fuel gas-primary oxidant air mixture, which are closely related to each other. and which are established at very reduced dimensions so as to ensure the unification of the flame front and thus to avoid any vibration thereof, with the simultaneous effects of eliminating a very painful factor of acoustic disturbance and giving rise to flames of greater uniformity ultimately having a better specific combustion efficiency.
According to another characteristic of the invention, particularly advantageous when using combustible gases at low flame propagation speed, in particular when high flame power is required, which causes a high speed of exit from the combustible gas mixture. primary combustion air, pilot flames are provided through an empty space formed between an outer sheet perforated at the level of the flame passage and the sheet which forms the body of the burner, the latter comprising groups of relatively close and established openings to small dimensions for the passage of the combustible mixture.
The above-mentioned empty space is supplied with a fuel-air primary oxidant mixture, originating at low flow speed from holes with reduced cross-section, so as to obtain high flame stability.
It is known that in gas burners with high specific power, there are generally provided numerous openings for the outlet of the gas, each of these determining an autonomous flame front, independent of the others. Relatively frequently these openings are joined in groups to allow a satisfactory supply of the flame with secondary air. Until now, because of technological difficulties q ues, the center distance between the openings was never brought au below 2 mm, so that we are witnessing vibrational phenomena in the flame front, which produce a very annoying noise sometimes reaching such an intensity that it causes significant nuisance in the atmosphere where it is generated and where it spreads.
The main object of the present invention is to provide a burner capable of being dimensioned even for large flame powers without producing any vibration, particularly within the range of the range sensitive to the human ear.
This result is achieved by grouping very small outlet openings to form homogeneous groups very close together (the center distance being for example of the order of 1.2 mm, while the width is approximately 0.5 mm.), So as to give rise to flame fans with a unique flame front at the level of each group.
It appears from the experiments carried out that such a burner does not produce appreciable noise, which eliminates any discomfort on the acoustic level.
We also verified the existence of a flame stabilization factor capable of making it very regular with the consequent advantages both in terms of uniformity of operation and in terms of burner efficiency.
The pilot flames supplied through the lateral empty spaces contribute very significantly to the stabilization of the main flames, even at very high flame powers. There is also obtained the non-negligible advantage of significant cooling of the sheet which forms the main body of the burner, this cooling being provided by the mixture which feeds the pilot flames through the lateral empty spaces.

In the first embodiment illustrated in FIG. 1 to 3, the burner comprises a
The lateral surface of the
In order to illustrate the invention by a nonlimiting example, it will be specified that each
A titre toujours indicatif on précisera que l'effet d'unification du front de flamm s'obtient encore, bien que dans une mesure évidemment réduite, en ayant recours à des entre-axes entre fentes de 1,4 mm, la largeur desdites fentes étant de 0,7mm.Always by way of indication, it will be specified that the unification effect of the flame front is still obtained, although to an obviously reduced extent, by resorting to inter-axes between slots of 1.4 mm, the width of said slots being 0.7mm.
In any event, the arrangement indicated above makes it possible to produce a range of flames 8 (fig. 3) having a dark blue color, the
1 à 3.In the variant embodiment illustrated in FIG. 4 to 6, the burner also comprises a cylindrical body, here referenced 11 (fig. 4), which has on its upper wall groups of
On the upper part of the
1 à 3.Here again, great stability of the main flames is obtained, the characteristics of which are identical to those indicated with reference to FIG. 1 to 3.
As indicated at the beginning of the present document, another advantage obtained lies in the secondary effect of cooling the upper part of the sheet which forms the
It should moreover be understood that the above description has been given only by way of example and that it in no way limits the field of the invention from which one would not depart by replacing the execution details described by all other equivalents, the essential characteristic of the invention residing in the unification of the flame front at the level of each subgroup of slits.
