Definitions
- the present invention relates to a loudspeaker housing according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- Known loudspeaker housings mainly consist of foiled chipboard, which are assembled using the folding method.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a novel loudspeaker housing which is considerably cheaper and more durable than the previously known loudspeaker housings.
- a major advantage of the invention is that loudspeaker housings of all sizes according to the invention are considerably cheaper than comparable loudspeaker housings that are made from foiled chipboard using the folding process or consist of one piece.
- Another important advantage of the invention is achieved by the textile tubular fabric pulled over the housing.
- This textile hose fabric hides scratches and impressions that may arise in the surface of the housing by always stretching it flat over the loudspeaker housing and concealing the scratches or impressions and rendering them invisible.
- the textile tubular fabric not only covers the bus damage of the aforementioned type that arises during use, but also irregularities in the surface of the housing caused by the manufacturing process. These irregularities see, for example, air nozzle, bullet and ejector marks.
- the invention is based on the assumption that a loudspeaker housing made of a styrofoam foam is covered with a textile tube fabric which is pulled over the housing like a stocking.
- a housing made of styrofoam and having five outer walls is designated by 1.
- This housing has cutouts 3 to 5 on the front side, for example, into which the individual loudspeakers are later inserted.
- At the bottom of the housing 1 there is preferably a groove 6 for later opening. Take the electrical connection cable provided. Stiffeners or struts 7 are visible behind the recesses 3 to 5.
- the housing 1 is open at the back, for example. This back is later preferably closed by a chipboard that is inserted flush and fastened. It is also conceivable to manufacture the housing 1 in such a way that it is closed at the rear and opened at the front. In this case, a baffle with the individual loudspeakers is later inserted in the opening on the front.
- styrofoam with a minimum density of about 100 to 12o g / Itr. foamed. Dense Styrofoam beads are not foamed as much as usual.
- a loudspeaker housing is removed from the manufacturing mold, which is so firm that its surface can hardly be pressed in, for example, with a fingernail 1 mm deep.
- the styrofoam housing thus obtained is extremely stable and resilient.
- the mold used in manufacturing is cheaper than molds previously used in connection with the processing of other foamable materials.
- a tubular textile fabric designated by 8 in FIG. 2 is placed over the side walls of the housing 1 pulled.
- This textile tubular fabric preferably consists of an extremely sound-permeable material, for example of smooth synthetic fibers.
- the shape used in the manufacture or in the foaming is designed so that the loudspeaker housing has no sharp, but only rounded edges.
- the side walls are preferably colored with a color which corresponds to the color of the textile tube fabric and does not attack the styrofoam.
- the side walls of the housing 1 are coated with a black binder color, for example.
- the fabric is fastened in a suitable manner on the upper side and on the lower side of the housing, for example clipped on.
- the upper side and lower side can then be covered with inexpensive plastic lids with a color and surface grain matching the textile tubular fabric.
- the present invention provides that in a housing manufactured in the manner described above with an open front side, a baffle having individual speakers is inserted into the open front side.
- baffles have been made from chipboard, metal or plastic panels. These known Schallwitzce have recesses into which the speaker chassis are used with sheet metal or cast baskets.
- it is provided to improve baffles in such a way that, as can be seen from FIG. 3, the baffles and the speaker baskets are made from one piece and from one material.
- the baffle is designated 9.
- This baffle has depressions 1 0 , 11, 12 at predetermined locations, which correspond to the baskets of the individual loudspeakers. An opening is provided at the lower end of each well. In the manner shown in FIG.
- the baffle according to the invention which is made from one piece, has the following advantages. While producing the known Baffles several shapes, namely a shape for the baffle and other shapes for the individual speaker baskets are required, only one shape needs to be used in the manufacture of the baffle according to the invention. In the baffle according to the invention, all the loudspeakers are advantageously assembled in one production step, while in the known baffles the loudspeakers first have to be assembled and then inserted into the baffle. The manufacturing step saved leads to a reduction in manufacturing costs. Finally, in a baffle according to the invention the connection between the loudspeaker chassis and the baffle is particularly durable and closed because it consists of one piece.
- the use of the textile hose fabric according to the invention is also of importance if the loudspeaker housing is not made of styrofoam, but of some other, soft or hard material.
- the covering with the textile tube fabric can in any case, regardless of the type of material, advantageously save preparation steps for surface treatment. In addition, there is advantageously no need for a separate cladding of the baffle.
Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a loudspeaker housing according to the preamble of
Known loudspeaker housings mainly consist of foiled chipboard, which are assembled using the folding method.
It is also known to manufacture smaller loudspeaker housings in one piece from different plastics or metals. However, this technique of manufacture has not proven itself in connection with the manufacture of larger loudspeaker housings due to the high shape and material costs.
Die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung besteht darin, ein neu- artiges Lautsprechergehäuse anzugeben, das wesentlich billiger und haltbarer ist als die bisher bekannten Lautsprechergehäuse. iThe object of the present invention is to provide a novel loudspeaker housing which is considerably cheaper and more durable than the previously known loudspeaker housings. i
This object is achieved by a speaker housing as mentioned at the outset, which is characterized by the features listed in the characterizing part of
A major advantage of the invention is that loudspeaker housings of all sizes according to the invention are considerably cheaper than comparable loudspeaker housings that are made from foiled chipboard using the folding process or consist of one piece.
Another important advantage of the invention is achieved by the textile tubular fabric pulled over the housing. This textile hose fabric hides scratches and impressions that may arise in the surface of the housing by always stretching it flat over the loudspeaker housing and concealing the scratches or impressions and rendering them invisible.
Advantageously, however, the textile tubular fabric not only covers the bus damage of the aforementioned type that arises during use, but also irregularities in the surface of the housing caused by the manufacturing process. These irregularities see, for example, air nozzle, bullet and ejector marks.
In connection with the loudspeaker housing according to the invention, no separate covering covering the baffle is advantageously required, since the baffle is also covered by the textile tube fabric. This leads to a further reduction in the cost of loudspeaker housings according to the invention, since on the one hand additional material and on the other hand complex additional work steps can be saved.
The invention and its embodiments are explained below in connection with the figures.
Es zeigt:
- Fig. 1 ein Textilschlauchgewebe;
- Fig. 2 ein Lautsprechergehäuse; und
- 1 shows a textile tubular fabric;
- 2 shows a loudspeaker housing; and
- Fig. 3 shows a section through a baffle, which is made together with the speaker baskets in one piece and in which the membrane and the magnets are mounted after the manufacture of the baffle.
The following considerations led to the invention. The production of loudspeaker housings from a foamable material was previously not possible because the surfaces of such housings are easily damaged due to their softness. For example, bumps or other effects on the surface result in notches, dents or scratches, which then impair the aesthetic effect of such housings or boxes. On the other hand, the surfaces also have irregularities due to the manufacturing process, which also impair the aesthetic effect. As already mentioned, these irregularities result from manufacturing-related air nozzle, bullet and ejector markings. With a loudspeaker housing made of Siyropor, it is not possible to eliminate these manufacturing-related irregularities by polishing the surface of the housing and then varnishing or veneering, because polystyrene is attacked or decomposed by most solvents that are in paints and adhesives becomes.
The invention is based on the assumption that a loudspeaker housing made of a styrofoam foam is covered with a textile tube fabric which is pulled over the housing like a stocking. The tight, flat fabric that spans all four side walls of the loudspeaker housing, which consists of a sound-permeable material, conceals the irregularities caused by the production of the housing, and also later impressions made in the surface of the housing.
In diesem Fall wird in der öffnung der Vorderseite später eine die einzelnen Lautsprecher aufweisende Schallwand eingesetzt.1, a housing made of styrofoam and having five outer walls is designated by 1. This housing has
To produce a loudspeaker housing that is constructed in the manner described above, styrofoam with a minimum density of about 100 to 12o g / Itr. foamed. Dense Styrofoam beads are not foamed as much as usual. As a result, a loudspeaker housing is removed from the manufacturing mold, which is so firm that its surface can hardly be pressed in, for example, with a
In order to cover up the irregularities already mentioned, which are caused by the manufacture, after the insertion of the loudspeakers and / or the rear wall or after the insertion of the baffle having the loudspeakers, a tubular textile fabric designated by 8 in FIG. 2 is placed over the side walls of the
The present invention provides that in a housing manufactured in the manner described above with an open front side, a baffle having individual speakers is inserted into the open front side. So far, baffles have been made from chipboard, metal or plastic panels. These known Schallwändce have recesses into which the speaker chassis are used with sheet metal or cast baskets. According to the present invention it is provided to improve baffles in such a way that, as can be seen from FIG. 3, the baffles and the speaker baskets are made from one piece and from one material. In Fig. 3 the baffle is designated 9. This baffle has
The use of the textile hose fabric according to the invention is also of importance if the loudspeaker housing is not made of styrofoam, but of some other, soft or hard material. The covering with the textile tube fabric can in any case, regardless of the type of material, advantageously save preparation steps for surface treatment. In addition, there is advantageously no need for a separate cladding of the baffle.
