Description

The invention relates to a plate-shaped insulation element made of molded plastic for ventilated longitudinal rafter pitched roofs, consisting of an insulating material plate with a longitudinal edge in the form of a molded Z-profile made of a protruding web across the plate surface and a projecting flange connected to the web edge.

Such insulation elements are commercially available as flat panels, which can be assembled on their longitudinal edges by means of multiple tongue and groove profiles and thereby provide a tight butt joint. However, the formation of joints is complicated and therefore prone to failure in practical use, and cuts and connections are difficult to produce. Since this tongue and groove profiling can practically not be retrofitted at the installation site, it is necessary to lay the prefabricated plate-shaped insulation elements with their given standard dimensions. This does not ensure that the butt joints of the insulating elements arranged next to one another always run along rafters, which results in sealing and stability problems. In order to finally allow proper ventilation of the roof covering, counter battens must first be nailed onto the insulation element above the rafters, which can then accommodate the transverse roof battens for applying the roof covering.

There are also commercially available insulating elements for longitudinal rafter pitched roofs, which are designed as comparatively narrow slabs to be laid transversely to the rafters with a profiled lower edge such that, after the insulating elements have been laid, a slatted structure for receiving the roof covering results directly in order to apply No need for roof battens on the installed insulation elements. However, this lath-shaped structure of the insulating element profiling, which runs horizontally on the pitched roof, prevents moisture from penetrating the roof coverings. The fact that this penetrating moisture cannot be removed is all the more serious since rear ventilation between the insulation elements and the roof covering is not feasible. This is because there is no clear distance between the slatted structure running across the rafters and the insulating material panels formed in one piece with it. In addition, ladder hooks, running board supports or the like cannot be fastened on a pitched roof with such insulation elements in accordance with regulations, because this would require securing using double slats.

From DE-A-2 532 853, for example, a plate-shaped insulating element made of molded foam plastic for ventilated longitudinal rafter pitched roofs is already known. It is designed as a foam-integrated profile part with a longitudinal edge in the form of a Z-profile made of a protruding flange connected across the plate surface transversely to its upstanding web and at the edge of the web. If this element were to be aligned lengthways to the rafters, the disadvantage would remain that the seam connection of panels abutting one another would not be sufficiently tight.

The invention has for its object to develop plate-shaped insulation elements of the type mentioned in such a way that they are easily adaptable to the roof truss geometry of a longitudinal rafter pitched roof with properly ventilated roof covering while maintaining simple layability and are equally mechanically loadable and, inevitably, penetrating the roof covering penetrating moisture allow a safe sealing of steep roof insulation with reduced material and labor.

This object is achieved according to the invention in the case of a plate-shaped insulating element of the generic type in that a cutting edge projecting parallel to the web below the plane of the plate surface is provided on the free end edge of the Z-profile.

This in the longitudinal direction of a panel edge, i.e. in the direction of the rafters of the pitched roof, foam-integrated Z-profile, which protrudes above the panel surface, not only replaces the counter battens to ensure proper roof covering rear ventilation, but also ensures due to the bending stiffness of such a profile , increased mechanical stability of the insulation element. The overlapping of the non-profiled longitudinal edge of an adjacent insulation element provides a good side joint seal. Since the non-profiled longitudinal border does not require any tongue or groove formation or any other special training for the connection, insulation elements can be supplied in standard widths and shortened to a width at the installation location simply by cutting a strip along this un-profiled longitudinal border, which corresponds to a specified rafter spacing. Since the side joints always run on the rafters, both the sealing and the load-bearing capacity are further promoted.

All materials that are used for foam insulation elements and are usually based on polyurethane are suitable for the foamed plastic insulation element with a foam-integrated long side profile. Dimensions and thicknesses of the insulation elements can be standardized in any gradation. The insulation elements can be laid on roofs of any inclination with longitudinal rafters.

Under the load with the roof covering, the cutting edge not only results in a particularly secure, self-sealing side joint arrangement, which is due to good sealing prevents the formation of temperature bridges against the ingress of moisture, dust or wind influences, but also an effective, namely positive mechanical connection between adjacent insulation elements in the direction transverse to the rafters.

It is particularly expedient to foam a prefabricated U-profile for the realization of the Z-profile in the course of foaming the insulating material plate. Because then a material can be used for the holding and sealing function of the Z-profile, the mechanical properties of which, in particular with regard to the effect of the cutting edge, meet higher requirements than are otherwise required for the foamed insulating material plate.

This embodiment is expediently characterized in that the cutting edge is arranged on one of the legs of an upright prefabricated U-profile, the other leg of which is foamed into the insulating material plate.

Further improvements with regard to sealing and strength can be seen in the fact that the interior of the U-profile is foamed, leaving the cutting edge free, the lower surface of the insulating material plate possibly extending beyond the foamed-in leg to approximately the middle of the U-profile and its interior above up to the leg having the cutting edge is foamed.

In order to create a better transition to the cutting edge, the leg having the cutting edge preferably tapers towards the cutting edge.

To relieve the seiteris bumps of adjacent insulation elements from moisture that has penetrated under the roof covering, it is expedient if water-conducting ribs are formed on the insulation material panel parallel to the longitudinal edge and protruding from the surface of the panel at a distance from one another. These prevent a large-area drainage of moisture in the direction of the cutting edge of the adjacent insulation element that cuts into the panel surface by dividing the panel surface into longitudinal strips along which the moisture is drained by the shortest possible route to the eaves.

If, when reducing the width of a standardized insulation element for the given rafter spacing, such a water guide rib should reach the area of the overlapping Z-profile of the adjacent insulation board, then it can be made in one piece with the. Insulating material plate trained water guiding ribs are simply cut off or scraped off, so that despite any simple adaptability to given geometric conditions, the sealing and mechanical securing function of the Z-profile spanning the side joint is in no way impaired in the case of the plate-shaped insulating element according to the invention.

Fig. 2.
Further advantages and features of the invention result from the following description of a preferred exemplary embodiment and application example for the plate-shaped insulating element according to the invention, which is shown in the drawing and restricted to the essentials. Show it :
  • 1 in an oblique view, such a plate-shaped insulation element,
  • Fig. 2 shows a section through the longitudinal edge profile according to the detailed information in Fig. 1 according to a preferred implementation and
  • 3 partially broken or cut the view of a pitched roof corner area with pitched roof insulation by means of the plate-shaped insulation elements according to FIG. 1 or FIG. 2.

From the plate-shaped insulating element 1 shown in an oblique view in FIG. 1, it can be seen that this is a profile part which is formed from an essentially flat, foamed plastic insulating material plate 2 and an integrally formed along one of its two longitudinal edges 3, 11, namely foam-integrated Profile part in the form of a Z-profile 4. This Z-profile 4 is composed of a web 6 which extends in the direction of the longitudinal edge 3 and transversely to the plate surface 5 and a projecting flange 7 which adjoins the upper web edge 8 and above the plate surface 5 parallel to the latter via the longitudinal edge 3 in question the insulating material plate 2 protrudes.

The thickness of this projecting flange 7 is preferably chosen so that its lower flange surface 9 lies in the plane 10 of the plate surface 5. In this way, in the area of this profiled - longitudinal edge 3, the tight connection to an adjacent insulation element 1 of the same panel thickness is possible, the unprofiled longitudinal edge 11 of which is overlapped by the upstanding, projecting flange 7 of the Z-profile 4.

Fig. 3) gewährleistet. On the free end edge 12 of the projecting flange 7 of the Z-profile 4, a cutting edge 13 running parallel to the web 6 and projecting below the plane 10 of the plate surface 5 is formed. This serves for a linear cut into the plate surface 5 of an adjacent insulating element 1 parallel to its unprofiled longitudinal edge 11. This ensures a self-sealing connection along such side joints 23 (see FIG. 3). In addition, there is a positive connection of insulating elements 1 arranged next to one another in the direction parallel to the planes 10 of the panel surfaces 5 and transversely to such side abutments 23.

On the insulating material plate 2, parallel to the longitudinal edge 3 or 11, protruding from the plate surface 5 and spaced from each other at a distance from each other spaced water guide ribs 14 are formed, preferably circular cross-section. These water guide ribs 14 serve to relieve the side impacts in the area the Z profiles in the case of insulating elements 1 arranged next to one another, by preventing a large lateral drainage of moisture accumulated on the panel surface 5, in particular in the direction of the unprofiled longitudinal edge 11. Rather, this moisture is localized vertically and thus quickly dissipated to the eaves.

As taken into account in the detailed illustration in FIG. 2, it is expedient to design the Z profile 4 on the profiled longitudinal edge 3 of the insulating material plate 2 in such a way that a prefabricated, elongated U profile when creating the insulating material plate 2 with a leg 16 into it Insulating material plate 2 is foamed that the yoke 17 of the U-profile 15 above the plane 10 of the plate surface 5 and parallel to it over the longitudinal edge 3 projecting and with the U-profile opening to the insulating material plate 2 is arranged. The molded leg 16 is preferably equipped at its free end with an anchoring profile 18. As taken into account in the drawing, this can be designed as a double-sided rib of triangular cross-section, but also as a simple bend or as a mutual spreading of successive leg sections (not shown in the drawing).

The interior 19 of the U-profile is essentially foamed in one piece with the connected insulating material plate 2, preferably in such a way that the longitudinal edge 3 runs approximately in the plane of the longitudinal center line through the elongated U-profile 15. A limitation of the foaming in the plane 10 of the plate surface 5 is the flange lower surface 9, over which the cutting edge 13 projects downwards. This is preferably formed in that the second leg 20 of the U-profile 15, which is not foamed into the insulating material plate 2, has a cross section tapering towards the free end edge.

This preformed U-profile 15, which results in the longitudinal edge Z-profile 4 by foaming into the insulating material plate 2, can consist of a nailable or screwable plastic or can also be designed as a metal profile. In the latter case, a metal grid profile is preferably used in order to be able to nail or screw through the yoke 17 into the foam in the interior 19.

The use of the plate-shaped insulation element and its particular constructive and application-oriented advantages result from FIG. 3. On the surfaces of rafters 22 running in the longitudinal direction of a pitched roof 21 between eaves and ridge, the plate-shaped, profiled insulation elements 1 are fixed next to one another in such a way that the side joints 23 Insulation elements 1 arranged next to one another and each towered over by the Z profile 4 extend on the rafters 22. For this purpose, the insulation elements 1, which are supplied in standard dimensions, are adapted in width to the center distance between those rafters 22 on which the side joints 23 are to run, by simply sawing off a strip from the insulation material plate 2, on their non-profiled longitudinal edge 11.

The cutting edge 13 of a Z-profile 4, which cuts into the plate surface 5 of the adjacent insulation element 1, in addition to a form-fitting mechanical bond between the insulation plates 1 in the area of the fastening rafters 22, effectively seals the side joints 23 against the ingress of moisture, dust and wind. This also avoids the formation of thermal bridges between the roof covering 24 and the rafters 22.

To apply the rear-ventilated roof covering 24, it is not necessary to attach 1 counter battens to the insulation elements. Rather, the roof battens 25 running transversely to the rafters 22 are fastened directly to the flanges 7 of the Z-profiles 4 projecting above the plate surfaces, whereupon the roof covering 24, for example in the form of roof tiles, can be applied. The rear ventilation cross-section is thus directly ensured by the height of the web 6 of the Z-profile 4, which rises above the plate surface 5, without having to use material or work for this purpose.

Breakthroughs in the insulation elements 1, e.g. for penetrating a chimney or edge connections can be easily made, since the foamed insulation elements 1 can be easily machined with conventional tools. Connections, including butt joints 26 between insulating elements 1 adjoining one another in the longitudinal direction, can be securely sealed without great effort and at the same time mechanically secured, for example by injecting commercially available spray foam based on polyurethane. The insulation elements 1 can therefore also be used reliably in the case of complicated roof trusses, even in the case of large or heavy pitched roofs, because the foam-integrated Z-profile 4 noticeably increases the structural strength of the plate-shaped insulation elements 1 due to its flexural rigidity due to its flexural rigidity .

The underside of the plate 27 of the molded insulation elements 1 can be provided directly with coatings, for example with wood coatings, which supports the particular suitability of this plate-shaped insulation element 1 in the renovation of old buildings or in the event of subsequent attic expansion.
