Description

The invention relates to a dental patient chair with a swivel-mounted backrest, which essentially consists of a fixed supporting part and an upholstery pad arranged thereon and which has in its lower half an indentation directed towards the central backrest axis with a width in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the chair of at least the knee width an average person.

There are known patient chairs in which the indentation at the bottom of the backrest is so practical 'table at the crossing point of the backrest to the chair seat. The indentation allows the dentist to move closer to the patient, but it also increases the risk of direct contact between the patient and the practitioner. Another disadvantage is that if the indentation is so deep that she goes into the area of the patient's lying surface, then the patient has practically no counter-support, which he finds to be uncomfortable.

The object of the invention is to provide a patient chair of the type mentioned at the outset, which does not have these disadvantages; in particular, the backrest can be passed under the knee of the practitioner without this having a disadvantageous effect on the patient.

The object is achieved in a patient chair of the type mentioned according to the invention in that the indentation extends across a depth of about a quarter to a third of the backrest width transversely to the longitudinal axis of the chair and in that the cushion cover is designed such that it has the indentation covered.

Advantageous refinements and developments of the invention are contained in the subclaims. The special design of the support part with the removable side support parts in the upper area of the backrest enables the backrest with the knees of the practitioner to be passed underneath even better, in all treatment positions. This advantage is particularly noticeable in the 12 o'clock positions, where the dentist has to position both legs under the backrest.

An embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing. Show it:
  • 1 to 3 a dental patient chair diagonally from the rear in a diagram, each with a modified backrest,
  • Fig. 4 shows a section of the backrest from the front with the cushion cover removed.

Die Rückenlehne 4 ist mittels eines Verbindungsgelenks 5 am Sitz 3 schwenkbar gehaltert.1 shows a diagrammatic representation, diagonally from the rear, of a dental patient chair with a lower chair part 1 and an upper chair part 2 arranged thereon in an adjustable height, which essentially consists of a seat 3 and a backrest 4. The backrest 4 is pivotally mounted on the seat 3 by means of a connecting joint 5.

The backrest 4 essentially consists of a base support frame 6 in the form of a shape, with side parts 7, 8 attached to it laterally in the upper region, and a relatively thin cushion pad 9 placed on the front side of the backrest (FIG. 2). The transverse web 10 of the support frame 6 is articulated on both sides of the chair by means of the connecting joint 5 on the seat and runs harmoniously into a central web 11 reaching to the upper edge of the backrest (FIG. 2). In the central web 11 of the support frame 6, a support rod 12 is adjustably supported for a head cushion 13.

The two side parts 7, 8 and the ends of the crossbar 10 form indentations 14 (FIG. 1) on both sides in the lower half of the backrest, which are covered by the cushion cover 9. The indentations 14 1, viewed in the direction of the longitudinal axis 15 of the chair, extend over a width a which corresponds approximately to the knee width of an average person and transversely to the longitudinal axis 15 of the chair over a depth b which corresponds to approximately a quarter to a third of the backrest width B. After the indentations 14 are present on both sides of the backrest, there is also a web width of one third of the backrest width for the width of the central web 11 with a depth of the indentation of one third of the backrest width.

An den beiden Seitenteilen 7, 8 sind Armlehnen bzw. Armstützen 16 angelenkt.Armrests or armrests 16 are articulated on the two side parts 7, 8.

From the illustration it can be seen that this results in an indentation extending to the upper edge of the backrest, which allows the backrest to be passed underneath for one on the right side of the chair working practitioners practically from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. If the patient is to be treated in a 9:00 o'clock position, that is to say if the backrest is strongly inclined, the practitioner must place himself at the head end of the chair, it is also advantageous to remove the left side part 7. The practitioner can thus place both legs under the backrest, the distance between the patient and the practitioner being extremely close, but without there being a direct possibility of contact between the practitioner and the patient in the lying area. The support frame 6 provides the required stability, whereas the cushion cover only serves for even surface support or support. The upholstery is therefore compared to the support frame relatively thin; In order to prevent bending backwards, it is advantageously provided with a stiffener. This can consist, for example, of a resilient insert or of a correspondingly prestressed spring core. It is advantageous to design the cushion cover so that it is elastic towards the front, ie towards the patient, but largely stiff towards the rear.

As can be seen from FIG. 3, two shoulders 18 for shoulder support can be arranged laterally in the upper region of the cushion pad. Advantageously, this shoulder support is part of the cushion pad, which for this purpose has a stiffened rear wall or insert made of an elastic plastic, e.g. Can contain polystyrene, or another resilient material.

Fig. 4 shows a section of the backrest seen from the front with the cushion pad 9 removed and shows the connection of the side parts to the central web 11. To fasten the side parts 7 and 8, tabs 20 are provided on both sides, which are welded to the support parts 21 and releasably attached to the central web 11. Bearing bushes 19 for mounting the armrests 16 are also arranged on the supporting parts 21. To remove the side parts 7 and 8, only the poster support 9 is needed, which e.g. with the help of a Velcro strap or the like. is attached to the support frame 6 to be removed.
