Description

The invention relates to a device for producing a soldered connection between overlapping ends of gutter parts, between which a solder is deposited, preferably a solder tape is inserted, consisting of two clamping jaws that can be pressed against one another, of which the inner clamping jaw is pivotably articulated and between them in the clamped state parallel mutually extending, the profile of the gutter parts from the bead to the water rebate in the region of the overlapping ends of the clamping surfaces, the overlapping ends to be heated to the soldering temperature can be pressed together.

Gutter parts made of non-ferrous metals, galvanized steel, in particular zinc or zinc alloys, are generally connected to one another by soldering in their overlap areas, and when using galvanized steel it is necessary to connect the gutter parts to one another by riveting before soldering. When soldering itself, you usually work with the soldering iron. A copper piston in a pointed or hammer shape is preferred. To remove oxides and solder residues, the hot tip or cutting edge of the soldering iron is rubbed onto ammonia stone; then you put solder on the ammonia stone and rub the soldering iron on it until the working surface of the soldering iron has tinned well. The solder with the soldering iron is applied to the overlap area previously treated with flux. The solder should flow after the soldering iron. The overlap in gutter brazing is at least 10 mm; when soldering the gutter to a gutter end piece at least 4 mm. The surfaces to be soldered should lie close together so that the thinest possible solder layer that is washed in creates the connection. During the soldering and until the solder solidifies, the parts to be connected must be held or clamped. So that the washed-in solder can solidify, the soldering process must be interrupted whenever one of the width of the soldering iron, e.g. 30 mm corresponding length of the solder seam has been produced.

Today, mainly propane gas and also butane gas are used to heat the piston.

Die Festigkeit der Lötverbindung hängt jeweils im wesentlichen von der Form der Naht im Überlappungsbereich und der Gleichmäßigkeit der Lötung ab.The strength of the solder joint essentially depends on the shape of the seam in the overlap area and the uniformity of the soldering.

From the foregoing, it follows that the work required to connect gutters by soldering is not only associated with a series of time-consuming, sometimes cumbersome, manual activities, but also with a comparatively large amount of soldering solder produced from 30 to 80 g / m.

In addition, if special fluxes are used, the flux residues must be carefully removed after soldering in order to avoid signs of corrosion.

From US-PS 1 924 799 a device for producing a soldered connection between overlapping ends of gutter parts is known, in which the gutter parts can be clamped between two jaws corresponding to their profile, of which the inner one is pivotally articulated to the outer one. This soldering device has not been able to prevail in practice because of its cumbersome handling.

The object of the present invention is to develop an improved possibility for producing the soldered connections between gutter parts in their overlap area.

The solution to this problem is that the inner clamping jaw is pivotally connected to a spindle and the spindle is mounted in a height-adjustable clamping bracket connected to the outer clamping jaw.

As part of the special design of the device, the inner clamping jaw is arranged on the spindle so as to be displaceable transversely to the longitudinal direction of the gutter parts, so that its pressure point sets itself at any height of the clamping bracket.

In order to ensure good heat conduction, at least the clamping surface of the inner clamping jaw should be designed like a comb.

Another advantage for flame brazing is obtained when a gas burner is pivoted in a semi-circular manner in the area of the center of the upper jaw. The gas burner can be attached alternately.

When using flame brazing, the overlap area can be heated in that the flame is directed directly at the gutter material or indirectly at the inner and / or outer clamping jaw.

But it is also possible to make one or both jaws electrically heatable.

The device according to the invention shown by way of example in the drawing is described in more detail below:
  • In the figure, the perspective view of a device for producing the solder connection of semicircular gutter parts is shown. The in the overlap area of the gutter parts, the inner gutter grasping, an elevation 1 to the water rebate side jaw 2 is pivotable on the spindle 3 and movable transversely to the longitudinal direction of the gutter parts in the Elongated hole 4 stored with the help of the ball joint 5. The spindle 3 is rotatably mounted in the clamping bracket 6. The clamping bracket 6 is slidably arranged on a guide part 8 which is firmly connected to the outer clamping jaw 7. In the middle of the inner jaw 2, the gas burner 9, to which gas is supplied via the line 10, is pivotably articulated. The clamping surfaces 11, 12 of the clamping jaws 2, 7 run parallel in the clamping position.

The advantages achieved by the invention are that simpler handling, safer soldered connection due to larger solder seam width and length, improved economy through soldering savings as well as 50% time saving and higher security for the craftsman.
