Abstract
Esta invención se relaciona con el reacondicionamiento de petróleos pesados de alta viscosidad y baja gravedad API que típicamente no son adecuados para el transporte por tubería sin el uso de diluyentes. El método consiste en introducir un portador térmico de partículas en un reactor de flujo ascendente, introducir la materia prima en una ubicación sobre la entrada del portador térmico de partículas, permitir que la materia prima de hidrocarburos pesados haga contacto con el portador térmico durante un tiempo breve, separar los vapores de la corriente de productos del portador térmico de partículas y de los líquidos y materia sólida de subproductos, recolectar una mezcla de productos gaseosos y líquidos que consiste en una mezcla de una fracción liviana y una fracción pesada de la corriente de producto y utilizar una torre de vacío para separar la fracción liviana como producto sustancialmente sin fracción residual y la fracción pesada de la mezcla de producto.
