Abstract
Массу продукта, содержащего твердый карбид алюминия, получают вдуванием дисперсного глинозема в ванну (30) расплавленного металлического алюминия и вдуванием углеродистого материала, состоящего из углерода, содержащего или дающего углерод, в ванну (30). Ванну (30) расплавленного металлического алюминия поддерживают при температуре перегрева для нагревания и реагирования углерода с расплавленным алюминием с получением твердого карбида алюминия, который смешивается с глиноземом с образованием массы (36), содержащей захваченный газ и захваченный расплавленный металлический алюминий и имеющей меньшую объемную или кажущуюся плотность, чем у алюминия.
