Another method involves treating carbon materials with a fluorine-containing acidic solution, which contains an aqueous solution of hydrofluoric acid and hydrogen fluoride; separating carbonaceous materials from an aqueous solution of hydrofluoric acid and hydrogen fluoride and then contacting carbonic materials with an organic solvent capable of dissolving elemental sulfur.
