Abstract

The invention is aimed at producing a ceramic proppant (particles) with high operation characteristics and low cost. The named objective is achieved by that a method for producing ceramic proppant involves grinding a batch, granulating the batch and its firing. To provide sufficient minimum strength of the material and maximum capacity during grinding the temperature of preliminary dehydration firing of olivine rock is not lower than 700 and not higher than 1150°C, and the batch used is natural high-silica sand in an amount of 70-100 wt.% of the mixture mass and olivine or olivine rock in an amount of 0-30 wt.%. The high-silica sand is either entirely or partially treated at the temperature above 900°C. The named objective is also solved in that the ceramic proppant is produced using the above stated method.
