Claims (15)
1. Fremgangsmåde, der omfatter: enzymatisk saccharificering af et cellulose- eller lignocellulosemateriale til dannelse af en sukkeropløsning, der omfatter xylose og glucose; tilførsel af sukkeropløsningen til en mikrobiel brændselscelle, som indeholder et afkalkningsmiddel eller et antifouling-middel; og anvendelse af sukkeropløsningen i den mikrobielle brændselscelle.
2. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, hvor cellulose- eller lignocellulosematerialets rekalcitrans inden saccharificering reduceres i forhold til cellulose- eller lignocellulosematerialets rekalcitrans i dets native tilstand.
3. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 2, hvor fremgangsmåden til reduktion af materialets rekalcitrans er valgt fra gruppen bestående af mekanisk behandling, kemisk behandling, sonikering, pyrolysering, bestråling, oxidering, dampeksplosion og kombinationer deraf.
4. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 2, hvor fremgangsmåden til reduktion af materialets rekalcitrans omfatter bestråling af materialet med ioniserende stråling.
5. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 4, hvor den ioniserende stråling omfatter elektronstrålebestråling.
6. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 4 eller 5, hvor bestrålingen omfatter bestråling med en dosis på mindst 10 Mrad.
7. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, hvor cellulose- eller lignocellulosebiomassen er valgt fra gruppen bestående af: papir, papirprodukter, papiraffald, papirmasse, pigmenterede papirtyper, belastede papirtyper, belagte papirtyper, fyldte papirtyper, tidsskrifter, tryksager, printerpapir, polybelagt papir, karton, kartonage, pap, slagteriaffald, bomuld, træ, spånplade, skovaffald, savsmuld, aspetræ, træspåner, græsarter, præriehirse, miscanthus, vadegræs, rørgræs, kornrester, risskaller, havreskaller, hvedeavner, bygskaller, landbrugsaffald, ensilage, rapsstrå, hvedestrå, bygstrå, havrestrå, risstrå, jute, hamp, hør, bambus, sisal, abaca, majskolber, majsstrå, sojabønnestrå, majsfiber, lucerne, hø, kokosnøddehår, sukkerforarbejdningsrester, bagasse, roemasse, agavegasse, alger, tang, gødning, spildevand, arracacha, boghvede, banan, byg, maniok, pueraria, surkløverknold, sago, sorghum, kartoffel, sød kartoffel, taro, yams, bønner, favas, linser, ærter og blandinger af hvilke som helst af disse.
8. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, der endvidere omfatter mekanisk behandling af cellulose- eller lignocellulosematerialet, f.eks. med henblik på at reducere materialets rumvægt og/eller forøge dets overfladeareal.
9. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, der endvidere omfatter anvendelse af et tilsætningsstof i brændselscellen.
10. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, hvor fremgangsmåden er til produktion af elektricitet.
11. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 10, hvor behandlingen af lignocellulosematerialet er valgt fra gruppen bestående af sonikering, pyrolyse, bestråling, oxidation, dampeksplosion og kombinationer deraf.
12. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 10, hvor det enzym, der anvendes til enzymatisk saccharificering af det behandlede lignocellulosemateriale, er en cellulase.
13. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 10, der endvidere omfatter fermentering af det saccharificerede behandlede lignocellulosemateriale med henblik på at fremstille et brændstof.
14. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 13, hvor brændstoffet er en alkohol.
15. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 13 eller 14, hvor behandling af lignocellulosematerialet omfatter bestråling af lignocellulosematerialet med ioniserende stråling, og hvor ioniserende stråling valgfrit omfatter elektronstrålebestråling, og/eller hvor bestråling valgfrit omfatter bestråling af materialet med en dosis på mindst 10 Mrad.
