Description

Den foreliggende opfindelse angår en malingssammensætning tilpasset til at forhindre korrosion af er> metaloverflade, som den påføres.
Det er kendt, at tilstedeværelsen af en kombination af Zn++ og PO^ ioner i et vandigt medium er meget effektivt til at forhindre korrosion af jern- eller ståloverflader. De materialer, som for tiden er i handelen til dette formål, er begrænset til de få støkiometriske zinkphosphater, der kan laves. Disse har for høje vandopløse ligheder for langtidsbeskyttelse af en metaloverflade, og pH-værdien af saltopløsningen har for det meste ikke den optimale værdi for tilvejebringelse af tilstrækkelig passivering af metallet.
Formålet med opfindelsen er at formindske mest muligt eller helt at overvinde denne ulempe. Dette opnås ved malingssammensætningen ifølge opfindelsen, der er ejendommelig ved det i den kendetegnende del af krav 1 angivne .
Det glasmateriale, der anvendes i malingssammensætningen ifølge opfindelsen, kan fremstilles som enkeltfasede strukturer i fast form.
Den omhandlede malingssammensætning er særligt effektiv til korrosionsbeskyttelse af jern- og ståloverflader. Phos-phat-ionerne samvirker med metaloverfladen for at tilvejebringe et beskyttende uigennemtrængeligt phosphatlag.
Opløseligheden af glasmaterialet er først og fremmest en funktion af forholdet mellem zinkoxid og de øvrige oxider i glasset. Det i glasmaterialet indeholdte aluminiumoxid (Al^Oj) formindsker dets vandopløselighed til et niveau, ved hvilket langtidskorrosionsbeskyttelse kan opnås.
Glasmaterialet fås ved sammensmeltning af bestanddelene i tilstrækkelig tid for at opnå et ensartet materiale, hvorefter smelten må afkøles til størkning og males til pulver. Pulveret spredes da i en harpiksbærer, fortrinsvis acrylharpiks. Der kan yderligere tilsættes pigmenter for at danne den færdige maling. Hvis malingen er bestemt til maritimt brug, kan et glasdioxidmateriale som beskrevet i engelsk patentansøgning nr. 600/75 også indbefattes i malingssammensætningen.
De følgende eksempler anskueliggør opfindelsen.
EKSEMPEL 1
En række glasarter blev fremstillet på basis af zinkoxid, phosphorpentoxid og aluminiumoxid. Disse materialers opløsningsgrader blev målt, og resultaterne er opsummeret i den følgende tabel:

Syreindholdet af vandige opløsninger konstateret fra disse glasarter er blevet udtrykt ved følgende: (H+) = 3.0 x 10'· 5 Ve; hvor C er koncentrationen af Zn++ i grammolekyle/ liter af opløsningen.

Claims (3)

1. Malingssammensætning tilpasset til at forhindre korrosion af en metaloverflade, som den påføres, kendetegnet ved, at den indeholder et glasmateriale fordelt i en harpiksbærer, idet glasmaterialet indeholder 52,8 til 54,0 mol-% zinkoxid, 44,2 til 46,2 mol-% phos-phorpentoxid, og resten er aluminiumoxid.
2. Malingssammensætning ifølge krav 1, kendetegnet ved, at harpiksbæreren består af en acrylharpiks.
3. Malingssammensætning ifølge krav 1 eller 2, kendetegnet ved, at molforholdet zinkoxid/phosphor-pentoxid er 53/45.
