Abstract

The test coil system (19) is rotatably configured so that rolling material (11) may be revolved. Between rolling material and test coil system, shielded cooling medium layer (5) and shield apparatuses (2,3) whose electric conductivity is zero, are provided. When defect such as crack, hole exist in rolling material, propagation interference of eddy current is excited and defective signal is produced by test coil system based on the propagation interference. Based on the defect signal recorded, the defects in material are evaluated.
