A method and a device (10) for decorating objects (24) having a conical outer surface (20) with a decoration of an embossed sheet (22) are described, said embossed sheet (22) being unwound from a supply roll connected to a deflection roller (32), being deflected around the deflection roller (32) and fed to an embossing station (42) between an embossing cylinder (12) and a holding device or an object (24) with a conical outer surface (20) to be decorated.
