The invention relates to contact thermometers with fixed; Eimschmelzstellen, with particular emphasis on secure attachment of the lead wires and the fuse wire is placed in the area of its exit from the capillary. At the same time should the metallic connecting parts required here are specially protected against corrosion.
3cThere will be such thermometers ζ. B. in refrigerated trucks used wherever in conjunction with the appropriate! Display instruments a central one Enable control of the cooling temperature. In operation, these thermometers are the unavoidable ones here Subject to vibrations, d. H. all more or less loose parts are subject to constant Vibrations, and this leads e.g. B. in the lead wires or fuse wires to permanent bending stresses. In addition, there is also the fact that there is constant moisture or a change between freezing and normal temperatures, which forbids from the outset that corrosion-sensitive metallic parts or wires in come into direct contact with this atmosphere. In this case it is mostly low voltages used in the amount up to 48 volts, which of course in the interests of safe Switching capacity the current strength increases significantly. This fact forbids the use of the previously customary thin strands or Wires, which are also particularly susceptible to corrosion. 3c

Up to now it has been customary to let the electrical contact wire emerge freely from the capillary and to loop it around a small glass mushroom at this point. In other cases the fuse wire was brought up to the clamping screws on the outside of the thermometer. In another case, the capillary was encompassed by metal strings to which the fuse wire and the lead wire are soldered. While in the first case a close succession of the contacts makes it difficult to attach such glass mushrooms, in the two cases the freely hanging wires will have the disadvantages highlighted above. In the latter. In this case, there is a risk that moisture will destroy the tightly fitting metal rings due to corrosion, as the moisture between them. Fixes capillary and metal ring. In addition, it is possible in this case that the metal rings loosen on the capillary or shift due to the vibrations and cause the fuse wires 1 to break off.
The present contact thermometer with fixed melting points and a jacket tube, which encloses the capillary and the electrical supply wires, is characterized according to the invention in that the jacket tube, which is also designed as a vessel in a manner known per se, has approximately the same diameter over its entire length and that the interior of the Cladding tube is dimensioned so that the lead wires and the capillary are space-filling, expediently 1 the visible side of the capillary is left free.
So far it has been the case that a capillary once at its connection part to the Hg vessel and was held at its upper end by corking or plugging. The entire length of the The capillary part was floating freely in the sheathing tube and was therefore inclined to vibrate. This has a particular effect on capillaries, which, as in the present case, have several have solid contact seals. Moments of heightened sensitivity are formed here, which can bring about the breakage of the capillary at the melting points. According to the invention, this prevents this the fixing of the capillary by the lead wires, and not in a rigid manner, but flexible and cushioning, so that in particular Resonance phenomena (between those brought to the thermometer from outside Vibrations and. the free, capillary part) cannot occur.
After the fuse wires in the usual way were inserted into the capillary, which was achieved by cutting off the capillary and melting it of the contact wire happens, the fuse wire is to be united outside in a known manner Type of handle bent. The result is> a small eyelet, the opening of which is slightly larger than the thickness of a lead wire. The free end of this loop, which is bent back towards the capillary, is fused to the capillary by a small glass bead. The resulting connection point is mechanically strong, and the lead wire to be attached by hanging in it is also against Tensile stress well secured. In terms of manufacturing technology, this arrangement is particularly favorable because all lead wires can first be hooked in, and then soldered to be electrically well connected to the fuse wire.
The supply wires are provided with insulating tube and placed close together, using them if necessary can be linked to the capillary by some binding wire. Will be expedient of course, the visible side of the capillary is left free.
The preliminary glass work on this device is so that the outer glass tube over the Melting point between collecting vessel and capillary is separated to allow work to be carried out unhindered on the capillary and to be able to attach the lead wires. Only after the The lead wires are completely fixed and provided with insulating tube, the disconnected Pipe part pushed over and fused.
The lead wires are dimensioned with their insulation so that the approximately the free space fill in between the capillary and the outer tube, wherever of course, as already mentioned, the view of the capillary must be guaranteed.
The free space between the capillary and the protective tube is turned on. the upper outlet opening, by means of Asbestos cord clogged, so that the supply "wires are fixed inside the protective tube, when bending stress occurs at their free protruding ends. But this will only while these wires are being led to the connection point for the purpose of producing the electrical After the installation.
The thermometer prepared in this way is secured by means of iron clamps with a rubber or Asbestos liner attached to a plastic plate. This plastic plate can be on the side of the individual contact points bear the temperature designation. It is Z. B. the arrangement of the contact points, made so that the contact points from 0 ° to one side and the contact points over 0 ° to the other side, while the 0 ° contact has a middle position occupies.
