Die Vorrichtung besteht aus einer Schute, die auf den vorderen, oberen Rand des Scheinwerfers aufgesetzt wird. Sie hat die Aufgabe, den Lichtkegel derart zu brechen, dass die Strahlen nach vorn und unten geworfen werden und lediglich eine Abblendung nach oben eintritt. Die Schute 1 hat an ihrem Aufsetzrand 2 eine Anzahl Anschläge 3, die sich von aussen gegen den Rand 2 bzw. die Fläche 4 des Scheinwerfers 5 legen. Von den drei Ösen 6 des Aufsetzrandes 2 der Schute 1 führen Zugfedern oder dergl. 7, 8 zu einem Haltering 9, der den Scheinwerferstutzen 10 umschliesst. Die Zugfedern 7, 8 sind an dem Haltering 9 in Ösen 12, 11 eingehakt, so dass sie an jeder Seite des Scheinwerfergehäuses bis zu den Ösen 11 und 12 entlanglaufen. Durch die Anschläge 3 und die Zugfedern 7, 8 wird die Schute unverrückbar auf dem Scheinwerfer 5 gehalten. Der Haltering 9, der in Abb. 3 gesondert dargestellt ist, ist federnd gestaltet und bei 13 offen. Die Enden 14, 15 sind umgebogen, so dass der Ring 9 leicht über den Stutzen 10 geschoben werden kann. Wird die Schute nicht benötigt, so kann sie abgenommen oder soweit zurückgeklappt werden, dass der Lichtkegel freie Bahn hat. Durch die Herstellung der Schute aus biegsamem Material kann die Abblendvorrichtung infolge der federnden Befestigung für verschiedene Scheinwerfergrössen verwendet werden.
