B. Halogen, ySulfogruppen,., Alkvl-; oder AcylaminoTeste, enthalten können) mit einer Mischung aus einerseits ^.Atomifliti^faalogenid. und/oder einem Halogenid eines anderen dreiwertigen Metalls und andererseits einem oder mehreren Halogeniden des Schwefels und/oder seiner Säuren behandelt.(whereby the benzanthrone nucleus and / or the anthraquinone nucleus still have substituents, e.g. halogen, ysulfo groups,., Alkvl-; or acylamino tests can) with a mixture of the one hand ^ .Atomifliti ^ faalogenid. and / or a halide of another trivalent metal and, on the other hand, one or more halides of sulfur and / or its acids treated.
Dem Aluminiuimdhlorid können schmelzpunktserniedrigende Zusätze, z. B. schweflige Säure, zugesetzt sein. The aluminum chloride can lower the melting point Additives, e.g. B. sulfurous acid may be added.
; ■. ■ ■> , ■ Λ ·■. ■ During the reaction, sulfur and halogen are introduced into the dye molecule. The chemical constitution of the new products is still unknown. ; ■. ■ ■> , ■ Λ · ■. ■
The execution of both: Process 1 is expediently carried out at an elevated temperature. In addition to aluminum chloride, iron chloride and other reagents customary for the Friedel-Crafts reaction can be used as chlorides of trivalent metals, such as; Sulfur halides are the chlorosulfur compounds S Cl 2 , S 2 Cl 2 , which may also contain dissolved sulfur, and bromosulfur S 2 Br 2 . It is also possible to produce these sulfur halides only in the reaction mixture from their components, e.g. B. in that elemental sulfur and bromine are added instead of bromine sulfur.
The dyes obtained by pouring the reaction mass onto ice can be purified by extraction after suction and washing, if necessary of added free sulfur, which is easiest by treating the directly obtained aqueous paste with an approximately 5% strength sodium sulfite solution at about 70 ° succeed.
The solution color of the new products in concentrated sulfuric acid is olive green; the color of the Küpen is very opaque brown and only slightly different from that of the raw materials. The new Vat dyes dye vegetable fibers bluish olive green with excellent fastness.
The dyes used as starting material are obtained according to German patents 533 500 and 546 228.
It is known that dyes with an isomeric constitution of the above formula (whereby the amin6anthfachinonreS't is not attached to the anthraquinone camp, but rather to the benzanthrone component of the nitrogen-containing ring system) give dyes which contain sulfur and halogen when treated with aluminum chloride and thionyl chloride (See German patent specification 743 59 2 ) · From these yellowish to brownish-big-olive-green dyes, the new products of other chemical constitution obtainable according to the present process differ in their mostly bluish-tidy-olive to olive-gray shades. Such shades of color with excellent fastness could not previously be achieved with chemically uniform dyes, but only through mixtures. However, it is known that such mixtures of different dyestuffs often show difficulties in practice, caused by the different leveling capacity and absorption capacity of the individual components

Of the according to, German ; Patent specification 889 663 available gray olive to yellowish gray olive dyes see them differentiated by a bluish olive shade. The new dyes offer the advantage over the known dyes of this patent, on different fibers, z. B. cotton, rayon, yiscose rayon, to deliver the same nuances .., They are therefore ideally suited for dyeing mixed fabrics.
In a mixture of 50 parts of aluminum chloride and 25 parts of thionyl chloride are at 70 0 5 parts of the German patent 533 5 °) Example 4, obtainable by caustic alkali melt from Bz-i -benzanthronyl-5-amino-i, i'-dianthoimide entered neutral gray dye and stirred for about 1½ hours.
