Der Tonarmkopf ist mit 1 bezeichnet, der umschaltbare Tonabnehmer, z. B. in Form eines Kristallsystems, mit 2, die Abtastnadel für Mikrorillen mit 5 und die Abtastnadel für Normalrillen mit 6. Der Tonabnehmer 2 ist an der Feder 7 kippbar aufgehängt. Ein Kreissegment 10 ist hinter einem Anzeigefenster 11 im Tonarmkopf 1 um eine Achse 16 drehbar gelagert und besitzt eine Rille 17, in welche eine am Tonabnehmer 2 angebrachte Nase 8 einrasten kann. Beim Drehen des Segmentes 10 wird der Tonabnehmer 2 um sein Lager an der Feder 7 gekippt, so daß wahlweise die Abtastnadeln 5 oder 6 zum Eingriff mit der Rille der Schallplatte gelangen. Am Umfang des Segmentes 10 ist in der Höhlung 18 eine Anzeigemarke M und am anderen Ende in einer Höhlung 19 eine Anzeigemarke N vorgesehen. Dazwischen erstreckt sich eine Riffelung 20. In der in Fig. ι und 2 dargestellten Schaltstellung für Mikrorillen ist im Fenster 11 die in der Höhlung 18 liegende Anzeigemarke M sichtbar, und zwar dicht vor der Hinterkante 21 des Fensters 11. Die Riffelung 20 liegt davor. Der Benutzer erkennt daraus, daß er beim Umschalten die Riffelung 20 und damit das Segment 10 nach hinten drücken muß. Es kommt dann die Abtastnadel 6 in Eingriff, und im Fenster 11 erscheint, entsprechend Fig. 3 und 4, die Anzeigemarke N, wobei diese in der Höhlung 19 an der Vorderkante 22 des Fensters 11 liegt und die Riffelung 20 dahinter. Der Benutzer erkennt daraus, daß er in diesem Falle beim Umschalten auf die andere Schaltstellung das Segment an der Riffelung 20 nach vorn bewegen muß. Ein Handgriff 15 ist am Tonarmkopf 1 befestigt, vorzugsweise angepreßt, und dient zum Aufsetzen und Abheben.
