Description
Preparations for treating water containing paper stock for the purpose of flocculation and cleaning suspensions of paper stock in water are coagulating and using floating additives added to the one hand in the sheet formation on the Wire the paper machine to achieve better retention of fillers and fibers or, on the other hand, to facilitate their cleaning. Such additives are special required for flotation cleaning processes for paper waste water.
Various means are in use for the stated purposes, .which differ greatly in their effectiveness and suitability. To call are for example resin soap and other soaps, glue, solvents such as pine oil, Turpentine oil, as well as sulfonated oils. When using glue there has been a maturity the diluted glue solutions, sometimes with the addition of formaldehyde or sulfuric acid Clay, proven to be beneficial.
It is still known (Patent 1331 of the Soviet Zone Office for inventions and patents), to use montan wax soaps for the present purpose, with the use of protective colloids such as glue, casein and emulsifiers, the one too rapid and coarse flocculation of the soap solution in the acidic paper waste water should prevent, is provided. Also the use of non-sulphonated oils, Fats or Waxes such as petroleum, paraffin, pine oil, montan wax inter alia, in emulsified or dissolved form together with organic sulfone compounds with at least 16 carbon atoms is mentioned at this point.
Since the paper stock and paper water are very changeable When it comes to composite systems, the endeavor goes to the additives so to ensure that they work safely under the most diverse conditions possible, at the same time a simple application, e.g. B. a loss of pre-maturity, is strived for. It has proven advantageous to use combinations of different Use substances, as this has a more than additive effect of the individual components can be achieved.
In the German patent 845 748 the use of natural Source colloids, such as alginates, carraghen extracts, tragacanth, optionally in combination with agents known per se, such as soaps, glue, sulfonated oils or polar, foaming substances, such as alkylarylsulfonates, fatty acid condensation products, described. When using glue and sulfonated fat bodies together favorable results could be observed (German patent 929 889).
It has now been found that a further increase in the effect of after Patent 929 889 used preparations is achieved if they are also liquid organic solvents or mineral oils are added, d. H. if these mixes thus basically contain the following individual components: I. hydrophilic, high molecular weight Colloids such as glue, glue breakdown products, proteins, starch, alginates, tragacanth, Carraghen extract, salts of cellulose glycolic acid; 2. capillary-active substances, such as Castor oil and oleic acid sulfonate, soaps, alkyl, aryl or aralkyl sulfonates, fatty alcohol-sulfuric acid esters, Fatty acid condensation products, ethylene oxide addition products and similar bodies, sulfonated oils are of particular importance; 3. emulsified or dissolved organic solvents and oils, such as paraffinic and aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated hydrocarbons, medium chain alcohols and esters, which are im generally show hardly any effect on their own for the intended purposes, namely in the ratio limits of hydrophilic colloid to capillary-active substance Solvents such as 15: 7.5-22: 55-25.
The courageous use of solvents in flotation agents for paper stock, which contain colloids and capillary-active substances, leaves an unexpected increase the effectiveness with at the same time less dependence on the acidity of the wastewater (pH value).
Since the acidity or PH value of paper wastewater is within a certain Boundaries fluctuates and since all known flotation agents continue in their Effect depend on the pH value of the water - they practically fail completely Values above PH 7 and below PH 4 - is an improved range of effects in one to see a wide pH range as an advantage.
The preparations are used in an amount of about 5 Dissolved up to 2o g / l of water and then, without pre-ripening, continuously in known Put the pulp-containing water on the sieve of the paper machine or before the casserole added when entering the cloth catcher. Example I A further 15 parts of glue are mixed Solution in a little water with parts of resin in the form of resin soap, parts of castor oil sulfonate, 5 parts of alkylarylsulfonate and 10 parts of mineral oil, diluted to one concentration of 2o g / 1 and sets the solution or dispersion thus obtained continuously to the water containing paper pulp. Even with a comparatively small application amount there is excellent flake formation and very good creaming of the fabrics caused in the flotation material catcher, even with relatively acidic wastewater remain. Example 2 15 parts of glue are neutralized after dissolution with 15 parts Mixed alkylarylsulfonic acid and 15 parts of butanol and used as in Example I. Example 3 5 parts of alkylarylsulfonate, 5 parts of resin soap and 5 parts of castor oil sulfonate are mixed with I part of methylhexalin and 8 parts of mineral oil and adds to the Mixture of 2o parts of the sodium salt of a cellulose glycolic acid. There arises a moist crumbly product that after swelling and dissolving in water like after Example I lets use. Example 4 Io parts of starch are added as usual small amounts of alkali gelatinized with 5 parts of 40% resin glue, 5 parts of castor oil sulfonate, 3 parts of alkyl sulfonate and 4 parts of pine oil are mixed. The very dilute solution is used as usual. Example 5 10 parts of glue, dissolved in water, are mixed with 0.5 parts of an oxethylated fatty alcohol, 0.5 part of olein, 2 parts of resin soap, 2 parts of oleinsulfonate and 3 parts of mineral oil and 1.5 parts of octyl alcohol are mixed. After dilution, the solution is continuously added to the stock water before towards the casserole on the wire of the paper machine.
