B. Dichlordiphenyl-trichloräthan, Hexachlorepoxyoctahydrodimethannaphthalin (unter dem Namen »Dieldrin« eingetragenes Warenzeichen) oder Hexachlorcyclohexan sind (resistente Stämme).Subject of the main patent 956638 and des first additional patent 962124 is an insect control agent, which by a content of N, N-dimethyl or N-monomethylcarbamic acid phenyl ester. The carbamic acid esters mentioned in particular have the property of having the effect of other insecticides, especially modern ones Contact insecticides, so that they are best used in conjunction with these. The effect against insect strains, which are relatively insensitive, is of particular importance in practice against contact insecticides from the series of highly chlorinated hydrocarbons z.
The active ingredients according to the invention can be used in a known manner, for. B. win in two stages by reacting the phenolic component (cresol or xylenol) with ι mol of phosgene (with the addition of 1 mol of alkali) and further condensation with the equivalent amount of methylamine or dimethylamine (or their salt - + - alkali). Of course, other known processes for obtaining methyl-substituted carbamic acid esters from phenols, e.g. B. the reaction of 1 mole of methyl or dimethylurea chloride with 1 mole of cresol or xylenol in an inert solvent (preferably benzene) with the addition of the equivalent amount of alkali or the reaction of 1 mole of methyl isocyanate with ι mole of cresol or xylenol. To prepare the dimethylcarbamic acid esters, the chloroformic acid esters of cresol or xylenol can also be reacted with trimethylamine and the quaternary salt obtained can then be cleaved.
The agents according to the invention are distinguished by their particularly rapid action. Their excellent effectiveness is evident from the following experiments on house flies (Musca domestica). The specified amounts of active ingredient (the numbers of the tested esters refer to the serial numbers in the previous table about physical constants) were applied in acetone solution to filter sheets with an area of 65 cm 2 , the solvent was evaporated and the filter paper was placed in a Petri dish. A larger number of house flies were added and the percentage of dead flies after three hours of exposure was determined. For comparison, gamma-hexachlorocyclohexane was also tested.

Die Versuchsanordnung warIn extensive experiments it was further demonstrated that the active ingredients according to the invention, with other active ingredients such. B. gamma-hexachlorocyclohexane, mixed, increase the killing of different insect species and / or accelerate. In such tests, it was possible to clearly demonstrate an increase in effectiveness that goes beyond a mere sum of the effects of the individual components. As an example of such an attempt in the following, the kill results (in ° / 0 of houseflies used) are specified, with gamma-hexachlorocyclohexane and the esters Nos. 1 score depending on its own, and in mixtures, the total placed on the application amount of active ingredient each was 20 mg. The experimental set-up was
dieselbe, wie soeben beschrieben; jedoch wurde der Abtötungserfolg zu verschiedenen Zeiten, nämlich nach 30, 60 und 180 Minuten, abgelesen.the same as just described; however, the killing success was at different times, namely after 30, 60 and 180 minutes, read off.
