Description

Sophie Huber, geb. Sophie Huber, née Karl, Sophie Huber, Elsa Huber, Margarete Huber, Hermine Huber, Irmgard Huber, Gertraud Huber and Hans Huber, Munich The heating surfaces of water tube boilers, superheaters, economizers and other heated appliances have to remove firmly adhering ash and slag crusts after a long period of operation getting cleaned. This is done partly mechanically, partly by steaming with water vapor or by rinsing with a jet of water, as these crusts are partly in the water are easily soluble. The two latter methods have the disadvantage that with acidic, especially sulphurous coverings due to the water supply to the iron ones Corrosion occurs on heating surfaces. It was therefore suggested that it be placed in the firebox and to add ammonia to the steam introduced into the flue gas path. The ammonia; ampf is absorbed by the condensed water vapor and neutralizes the acidic coating after a few hours. Furthermore, the ammonia vapor should facilitate the loosening of the crusts.

The method of the present invention also reaches the flue gas side Cleaning of the heating surfaces from coverings by the. known vapors with water vapor, whereby corrosion attacks by acidic constituents of the coverings are eliminated will and a partial chemical dissolution of the deposits is achieved by a special So; dai treatment or the like of the heating surfaces.

The method is expediently carried out as follows. The - ° heating surfaces of a .. boiler or other apparatus are first thoroughly cleaned in some way. Then the heating surfaces are heated to 40 to 8o ° by filling the kettle with warm water or by briefly firing it up. A sofia solution (or other alkaline solution) is then misted, for example through a spray nozzle, in the fire chamber and in the flue gas ducts in such a way that the heating surfaces are wetted on all sides as well as possible. Expediently, you can draw air through the boiler with the flue gas valve open so that the solution can reach the. waxm.en heating surfaces dries up quickly and you can see a thin layer of soda or other type of it forms on them. If this is sufficiently strong, the boiler is ready for a normal operating period. Of course you can. you can also pretreat new boilers in this way.

If the boiler is heavily soiled on the flue gas side after a long period of operation, it is first of all, if necessary, cleaned of the worst deposits in corners and the like on the surface. Then it is steamed in the closed state by blowing steam distributed as usual into the combustion chamber and into the flue gas paths, the heating surfaces being kept cool by introducing cold water into the boiler or the downstream equipment. The water vapor penetrates through the crusts of the covering and condenses on the cold iron surfaces. The water formed there forms a sofa solution with the sofa layer applied by the pretreatment. This now has two effects: on the one hand, the zone remains on the heating surfaces. alkaline, acid attacks are therefore excluded. The iron heating surfaces are. Preserved by the sofa layer, so to speak. Furthermore, some of the soda solution goes with some components of the topping, e.g. B. SO ", a water-soluble compound, which liberates abundant CO 2. This gas formation loosens and disintegrates the crusts. In addition, the gas bubbles that arise between the heating surface and the covering mechanically push the covering off. The heating surfaces become So chemically and mechanically cleaned by steaming with water vapor without the fear of acid corrosion.

To make the dissolving effect of the soda solution on the covering particularly effective To do this, you can also remove the contaminated hemisphere before or during the Sprinkle steaming with a sofia solution.

The one sprayed on after the heating surfaces have been completely cleaned thin sofa layer also has the advantage that it can be used during the subsequent operation the heating surfaces in front of the. Attack of the smoke and that it protects against the build-up. aggravated by ash and slag.
