Above-floor lighting device for airfields For visual flight orientation
When landing on airfields, an approach lighting system has proven to be advantageous
proven, in which the approach baseline as a continuation of the runway center line
is fired. Because a high light intensity is required for the individual approach lights
must, the use of underfloor lights would not be appropriate. The usage
of above-ground devices of known types as approach light means for one to
aircraft touching down early or taking off too late pose a certain risk. Result from this
difficulties arise for the training of the devices to be used as approach lights.
According to the invention, an approach light is designed as a surface-mounted device
in such a way that it collapses or is knocked over when an aircraft hits against it,
without opposing this considerable resistance, but against other influences,
z. B. the wind pressure, has sufficient stability. Through such training
endangering the aircraft can be avoided and yet by attaching the
Ensure sufficient light intensity at a suitable height.
The invention is explained below using exemplary embodiments.
Fig. r und a zeigen ein Ausführungsbeispiel in zwei Ansichten.
Gestelles
i9 verbunden.Fig. R and a show an embodiment in two views. The lamp zo is supported here by a frame with three legs 1z, 1a, 13. The parts of the frame are held together by a coupling device controllable by a sensing element in the form of a ring, which is released when an aircraft hits the sensing element so that the frame collapses. The main parts of the construction are expediently made of light metal. The foundation 15 is rigid and durable. The lower ends 16 of the three-legged set have pivot bearing pins which are arranged in a substantially perpendicular to the runway direction, so that the frame parts ii, i2, 1 3 are easily rotatable to the ground when it is released upper end. The lamp io is connected to the transformer housing i9 by a cable 17 and suitably via a detachable contact i8.
io tragen, mit den Gestellteilen i i, -i2, 13 lösbar gekuppelt. In Figure 3, a possible embodiment for the coupling device at the upper end of the frame below the lamp is shown for itself in plan. The sensing ring 14 is mounted relatively easily detachable in troughs in two sheet metal cups 2o. If the sensing ring 14 receives an impact from the outside, it jumps out of this position and falls to the ground. The cups 2o are slidably mounted on rods 2i in walls 22 and the upper ends of the frame parts 1i, 12, 13 and are under the pressure of springs 23. In this way, the walls 22, which carry the lamp io, are connected to the frame parts ii , -i2, 13 detachably coupled.
The coupling device can of course also be of various types
train different way. 'For example, it can be held together by a fracture link
made of ceramic material or brittle metal, such as thin-walled,
porous cast tubes with grooves. It is only important that the construction is in its individual parts
is dimensioned so that it withstands the wind pressures, but with the coupling elements
are arranged so that they have little impact resistance due to their brittleness
exhibit. It can also be advantageous to have the coupling device by a
to make detachable explosive device provided with a small explosive charge. The trigger
of the detonating member takes place either mechanically when it collides with a
Airplane or electrically, for example by remote control from the airport control tower
or by a self-contained electrical remote control system so that the crash
of an aircraft with an approach light at the same time triggering a predetermined one.
Caused number of approach lights ahead and exposed a predetermined path
will. Instead of remote-controlled explosive charges, you can also use electromagnets
to be provided as coupling elements.
31 unbeschädigt bleiben.4 and 5 show two embodiments of approach lights according to the invention, the lamp 30 itself and a reflector 3 i which directs the light beam upwards and is arranged under the floor. A housing 32 is located above the corridor, in the upper part of which a mirror arrangement 33 is arranged which deflects the light beam in the desired direction. In the arrangement according to FIG. 4, the light beam is directed through the mirror arrangement 33 in only one direction, and in the arrangement according to FIG. 5 in two opposite directions. The housing 32 is expediently provided with a predetermined break point 34, so that the housing breaks off when an aircraft is hit, without endangering the aircraft, but the light 30 and the reflector 31 remain undamaged.
