Baler with cutting edge free pusher

The innovation relates to a baler according to the generic term of claim 1.

With such waste presses equipped with cutting blades or cutting bars at the front, upper press box and press ram area, the problem always arises that the material to be pressed, which has already been cut during the press stroke before reaching the press

box-side cutting bar is heavily compacted, collects or rests on the upper area of the press box and thus not only makes cutting through the material more difficult, but can also lead to the press being completely blocked.

In order to eliminate this problem, it has already been proposed in DE-PS 34 35 126 to provide a receiving space with a sliding surface extending from the knife bar in the filling shaft wall above the critical cutting blade area in order to eliminate the risk of jamming and blockage. However, this known solution is only a stopgap measure, because it does not work at the point where the problem arises structurally.

The purpose of this innovation is therefore to create structural measures for balers of the type in question here that reliably counteract the problem of jamming and possible blockages caused by baled material in a simple manner.

This problem is solved by the means and measures specified in the protection claim; the subclaims contain advantageous embodiments

and further developments of the new solution, which is also explained in more detail below using an example. They show:

The known basic elements of the baler shown consist of a press shaft 1 with a horizontally acting press ram 2 and corresponding cutting blades 3 and 4 on the front side of the press plate 2a and the underside 5a of the front wall 5b of the filling shaft 5.

The following new features of such a press now serve to solve the task posed at the beginning

a) a clock-dependent, at least once before each

Press stroke, cutting edge free pusher 6 moved past the stationary knife 4 and extending into the press chamber 1, as well as

b) Retaining claws 2b on the front side of the press plate 2a in the area below the cutting

knife 3 and

c) projection "y" of the cutting knife 3 to the front of the press plate 2a.

In a special structural design, it is also provided that the cutting edge free pusher 6 is directed at an inclination "ß" towards the press plate 2a and, in the resting position, its front side 6a is approximately flush with the front wall 5b of the inlet shaft 5 in a corresponding opening 5c of the latter 5b, whereby it is also important that the free end of the cutting edge free pusher 6 has horizontally running steps 6b and 6c.

With this latter design, the material in the filling shaft is pressed diagonally away from the stationary cutting knife 4 located there into the pressing chamber 1 and is already pre-compacted, whereby the knife 3, which protrudes by the dimension "y", on the pressing plate 2a of the pressing ram 2, which has already been advanced in the pressing direction, in conjunction with the retaining claws 2b, effectively prevents the waste material from sliding up in the direction of the filling shaft.

During the pressing stroke, the two cooperating cutting blades 3 and 4 only have to cut off the last possibly protruding tines, which requires little force.

In order to optimize the new system, it is ultimately structurally advantageous if the beam 7 above the stationary knife 4 has a horizontally running front side 7a and, when viewed from above, runs in an arrow shape together with the knife 4 and the cutting edge 4a of the stationary knife 4, viewed from the beam 7, protrudes from its front side 7a by a certain clearance "x".
