The invention relates to a tamping device for compressing garbage in exchangeable, open-topped containers, in particular containers, with a portal-like frame in which the container can be fastened and with a tamping body which can be actuated by a drive device and whose tamping surface is smaller than the container opening.
A tamping device of this type is known in which a press can be displaced on a portal-like frame and is used to move a tamping plate up and down, only part of the container cross-section being exposed to the tamping pressure. With this device, the garbage must be filled into the container from different sides depending on the position of the stuffing plate. Such a tamping device is therefore not very suitable to be connected to a garbage disposal chute.
The object of the invention is to design a stuffing device of the type mentioned in such a way that it can be connected to a rubbish chute. Furthermore, the stuffing device should be operated automatically.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the plug body is designed in a sector-shaped manner and is pivotable about a horizontal axis which lies at least approximately in a vertical center plane of the container fastened in the frame, and the like. that the stuffing body can be pivoted between two end positions, whereby in one end position it releases at least approximately half of the container opening u. in the other end position, this half container opening is largely covered.
An advantageous embodiment of the invention is characterized in that it has an entrance shaft that can be connected to a garbage chute, and that the stuffing body forms a wall surface of the entrance shaft, wherein in its one end position it closes the entrance shaft from the container with its curved wall and in its Another end position with a flat side wall delimits a passage to the container.
This training makes it possible to connect the stuffing device to a chute for the garbage, as it is often present in larger buildings. Since the refuse is always fed into the container on the same side, it is possible to retrofit the stuffing device to existing refuse chutes. Such shafts always open into a corner of the space provided for this purpose. The one-sided waste supply therefore allows the stuffing device to be set up in the corner of the room.
An expedient embodiment provides that the stuffing body assumes the end position in the rest position, in which it closes the entrance shaft, and that, when the garbage collected in the entrance shaft has reached a predetermined level, the drive device moves the stuffing body into the other end position and back into the rest position moved back.
This ensures that the garbage in the container remains under pressure while the plugging body is at a standstill, which increases the degree of compaction of the garbage. In this embodiment, at least one light barrier can be provided in the entrance shaft to determine when the accumulated garbage has reached a predetermined level, whereby the drive device of the tamping body can be put into operation by this light barrier. As a result, batches of approximately constant amounts of waste are fed to the container, which reduces the risk of excessively large batches jamming during the pressing movement of the plug between its edge and the upper container edge or the narrow side of the frame.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically in the drawing. Show it:
1 shows a side view of a stuffing device with the stuffing body in the end position representing the rest position,
2 shows a vertical section through the stuffing device with the stopper in the end position releasing the waste supply to the container,
FIG. 3 shows an enlarged section of FIG. 2 with the limit switch for the end position of the tamping body in the open state and FIG
FIG. 4 shows an enlarged section of FIG. 2 with the second limit switch for the rest position of the stopper body.
The stuffing device shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has a portal-like frame with four supports 1 which support a horizontal, rectangular frame 2. On this frame, manually operated, pivotable levers 3 and 4 are arranged, which carry an angled support strip 5 and 6, which grip under an edge 7 of a waste container 3, a so-called container, which is rectangular in cross section. This has wheels 9 and is retracted in the emptied state into the portal-like frame and raised by a known lifting device, not shown, with the levers 3 and 4 pivoted out. The levers 3 and 4 are then pivoted into the position shown and the lifting device is lowered. The container 8 then hangs on the frame 2 in the position shown.
On the levers 3 and 4 locking levers 10 are hinged, which engage behind a pin 11 on the frame 2 u. avoid unintentional opening of the levers 3, 4 in the event of lateral forces that can occur when tamping.
On the frame 2 a sector-shaped tamping body 12 is mounted pivotably about a horizontal axis 13.
This axis lies in the middle of the container 8 and is arranged on the frame 2 in such a way that the cylindrical part 12a of the stopper body surrounding the axis 13 protrudes somewhat into the container. The actual flat tamping surface 12b of the tamping body 12 adjoins part 12a, the outer edge of which is welded to the curved surface 12c. The piston rods 14 of two hydraulic cylinder-piston units 15 engage the stuffing body 12, which are also attached to the frame 2 and can pivot the stuffing body 12 between the two end positions shown in FIGS.
In addition, an input shaft 16 is attached to the frame 2, which with its square mouth 17 encloses the mouth of a garbage disposal shaft 18. The entrance shaft 16 has two side walls 16a, 16b and an end wall 16c. The walls 16a, 16b laterally delimit the stuffing body 12. A wall part 16d is also attached to the inlet shaft 16, which reaches up to close to the curved surface 12c of the stuffing body.
In the end position of the stopper 12 shown in FIG. 1, the curved surface 12c closes the passage to the container 8, while in the end position of the stopper 12 according to FIG. 2, its wall 12b forms one side wall of a passage to the container 8. In both positions of the plug body 12, one of its wall parts thus forms a wall of the input shaft 16. At one end of the curved surface 12c, a control cam 20 is attached, which interacts with two limit switches 21, 22, which are shown larger in FIGS . In the two end positions of the tamping body, the control cam 20 actuates the switches 21 and 22 via a feeler roller 23 and a pivot lever 24, which act on the drive device of the tamping body 12.
The control is known per se and does not belong to the invention.
In the upper area of the input channel 16 a light barrier 25a, 25b is also arranged, which e.g. consists of a light source and a photocell, which are arranged in the two side walls 16a, 16b and monitor the level of the accumulated garbage.
Furthermore, a pressure monitor, known per se, is installed in the hydraulic system which feeds the cylinder piston units, which switches off the drive device of the stuffing body 12 when a preset maximum pressure limit value is exceeded.
The mode of operation of the device is as follows: The stop body 12 is in the rest position shown in FIG. 1, in which it closes off the inlet channel 16. The garbage falling in the shaft 18 therefore piles up in the entrance shaft until it reaches a height at which it continuously interrupts the light beam of the light barrier 25a, 25b.
This e.g. the drive motor of the oil pump for the pressure oil of the cylinder-piston units 15 is put into operation.
These pivot the stuffing body 12 into the end position shown in FIG. 2, in which the limit switch 21 initiates the return stroke into the starting position. The stuffing body 12 then remains in this rest position again until the light barrier is actuated again by the accumulated garbage. The garbage accumulated in the entrance channel has now fallen into the container 8, at the bottom of which it gradually piles up. When the level of the accumulated garbage reaches the top of the container, the garbage is compressed by the plate 12b of the stopper body 12. Since the stopper body engages in the container in its rest position, the waste remains permanently under pressure, whereby the degree of compaction is increased.
By collecting the garbage in the input shaft and filling it with an approximately constant batch, the compaction of the garbage can be improved and the risk of jamming reduced. When the compression resistance of the garbage has reached a certain predetermined limit value, the aforementioned pressure monitor switches off the drive of the stopper. At the same time he actuates a warning signal e.g.
for the caretaker, who then has to replace the filled container with an empty one. In the same way, this warning system is activated when the stop body is prevented from moving by a garbage part.
The operating mode described is only one of the various possibilities. The stuffing body 12 could of course also be in the rest position in the end position according to FIG. 2 and only perform a compression stroke from time to time. Furthermore, the stop body could be driven in other ways.
Furthermore, means for further reducing the size of the garbage could be attached to the housing and to the plug body.
Lockable flaps could also be provided in the garbage disposal shaft, which prevent the disposal of garbage when the stuffing device is not operational.
