Es sind mir seit Jahrzehnten optische Linsen bekannt die, beim Rückfenster eines Automobils angebracht, dem Zweck dienten, die Sicht nach rückwärts zu erweitern. In letzter Zeit sind diese nach langer Pause wieder zu sehen und zwar hauptsächlich am Rückfenster von Kleinbussen, wo sie ihren gedachten Zweck voll erfüllen.-Für PKW scheinen solche Sammellinsen zwar für die Erweiterung der Sicht nach den Seiten hin (bezgl. des "toten Winkels") wirkungsvoll zu sein, jedoch «versagen sie für die Sicht nach unten, wo solche gerade beim Rückwärtsfahren besonders wichtig wäre, um nicht auf Hindernisse, z.B. einen dahinter parkenden Wagen oder eine Garagenwand aufzufahren, bzw. um ganz nahe heran fahren zu können. Vor allem, seit fast alle PKW-Typen neuerdings im Zusammenhang mit der Konstruktion windschnittigerer Karosserieformen und aus anderen Gründen viel höhere Kofferraum-Gestalt erhielten ist die Sicht nach hinten für den Fahrer meistens total versperrt und dies auch dann noch nach hintenunten, wenn eine Sammellinse am Rückfenster des Fahrzeugs angebracht ist, wie solche bisher bekannt sind. Auch dann ergibt sich praktisch noch: Vom Rückspiegel sieht der Fahrer jetzt über die Sammellinse am Rückfenster zunächst den hohen Kofferraum-Deckel und erst sehr weit hinten ein niedriges Hindernis oder die Fahrbahn. Der Zweck, bis nahe an ein Hindernis (z.B. in einer Sammelgarage oder an die Garagenwand) heranfahren zu können, wird nicht mehr erreicht.I have known for decades about optical lenses which, when fitted to the rear window of a car, were used to increase the view to the rear.
