1 BELT WINDER FOR BLINDS

DESCRIPTION
SUBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to a belt winding device for blinds of the type commonly referred to as external blinds, i.e. which can be attached to a wall and folded down on the same, the winding device being designed to allow easy access to the internal mechanisms.

FACTS

It is known that roll-up blinds are usually operated by means of a belt, although a cord or other means can also be used. The winding shaft has a pulley to which one end of the belt is attached, while at the other end there is a winding device with an automatic winding drum that takes up the excess belt at any time and has a braking device that can block the belt in any position of the blind.

It is also known that there are two types of winding device: devices which are built-in and have a front plate which is inserted into the opening of a housing recessed into the wall. To gain direct access to the internal mechanisms of these external winding devices, which are housed in a housing of suitable design recessed into the wall and fixed to it, it is only necessary to remove the plate.

In the second case mentioned, i.e. in the case of external winding devices, the housing forms a closed housing in which the mechanisms of the device are housed. The housing has a small window through which the belt is guided. The braking device is installed next to it.

The problem with these winding devices is that their interior is inaccessible, which is why if the winding drum for the belt winding or another part is damaged, the entire winding device must be replaced with a new one.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The belt winding for roll-up blinds proposed by the invention solves this problem and allows easy and quick access to the interior without compromising its aesthetics.

Starting from the structure of a conventional winding device of this type, and in particular a device with a flat housing, the proposed winding device centres its features on the fact that one of the larger sides of the housing is largely covered by a cover which is pressed into the housing. For this purpose, small barbs are provided on its periphery which clamp onto the edge of the window present in the housing. To be able to remove the cover, it is only necessary to exert a slight pressure on the inside of the cover using a suitable tool, such as a simple screwdriver, through the actual opening for the belt to exit.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION.

In view of these figures, especially Figure 1, it can be seen that the belt winder according to the invention has a housing (1) which, in the practical embodiment shown, takes on a disc-like shape with a tangential extension (2) in which the window (3) for the passage of the belt is located and at the same time the corresponding braking mechanism is arranged. However, the housing can also have any other flat shape without thereby affecting the essential meaning of the invention. In a manner known per se, the housing is attached in an articulated manner to a support (4) which is provided with openings (5) for screwing to the wall in such a way that it allows the belt winder to be arranged in the manner shown in Figure (1), which corresponds to the position of use or, when not in use, to a folded arrangement on the mounting surface.

The housing (1) is composed, in a manner also known, of two symmetrical parts or flaps (1-1') which are coupled at their openings and, after the belt winding mechanisms have been inserted, are finally secured by a perimeter connection line (7), usually by welding.

Starting from this basic, conventional structure, the proposed belt winding centres its characteristics on the fact that one of the two housing parts (1-1'), more precisely the part indicated in the figures with the reference number (1'), has a window (8) into which a cover (9) is fitted, which, in the closed position, is flush with the rest of the housing surface and is therefore barely visible. This cover is pressed into the opening of the said window (8) by means of small barbs (10) or by other suitable conventional means.

In this way, the housing allows easy access to the mechanisms located inside it, for which purpose only the aforementioned cover (9) needs to be removed. This operation is very simple since all you need to do is press against the inside of the cover with an elongated object, e.g. a screwdriver, through the actual housing window (3) for the belt to exit. Subsequent assembly can also be carried out quickly and easily since only a single push is required.

Although this description refers to a belt winding

for roll-up blinds, the subject matter of the invention is obviously also suitable for cord winding.

The invention can also be used for external windings whose shape differs from that shown in Figure 1.

It is not considered necessary to describe the subject matter of the invention in more detail so that a person skilled in the art can get an idea of the scope and advantages of the invention.

The materials, shape, size and arrangement of the invention may be changed as long as the essential meaning is retained.

The concepts used in this description should always be understood in the broadest sense and should not be considered as limiting.

6 CLAIMS 1. Belt winder for blinds of the type that it is attached to any supporting surface and is usually an external element that can be folded down on this surface and has a housing in the interior of which the operating mechanisms of the belt winder are arranged, the housing being equipped with a small window or a small opening through which the belt required for operating the blind emerges, characterized mainly in that the housing has a large opening in correspondence with one of its two larger sides, almost over the entire surface, which allows easy access to the said internal mechanisms and which shows a cover that is pressed into the housing in a snug fit and in the closed position is flush with the surface of the housing and is therefore practically barely visible, this cover having fastening means in the closed position, e.g. small barbs that penetrate the edge of the window that accommodates the cover, whereby the cover can be inserted by a simple pressure from the outside and can be removed by a slight pressure on the inside, which can be removed by means of an elongated tool or object through the opening provided for the belt exit.
