Description
B.Firing or firing and sintering processes According to an older suggestion can substances such as limestone, dolomite, magnesite, cement raw meal, oxides and silicates of aluminum, magnesium or other alkaline earth substances, furthermore Bauxite, phosphate and other digestion mixtures as well as clay, clay-containing substances, z. B.
Raw chamotte, or fine-grain ores, burned in the way or Are burned and sintered that the goods to be processed, expediently with returned goods mixed and crumbled and piled up on a gas-permeable base, is treated by bubbling hot gases through, which are sucked out of the charge Exhaust gases are broken down into at least two partial gas flows and the hotter gas component is passed through the feed again as return or cycle gas. By this procedure has particular advantages, for. B. the saving of fuel, furthermore, the safe maintenance of certain temperature ranges for any period of time as well as the possibility of setting the desired temperatures depending on the gas flow.
Modifying this procedure has now been found to be common to many In some cases, it is useful to pass fresh air through instead of or together with the cycle gas pass the feed through. In the proposal mentioned it is stated that the heated cooling air that occurs when cooling the grate charge as primary or secondary air can be fed to the hot gases, but come in practice there are also cases in which the amount of heated cooling air is insufficient, around to effect the desired temperature setting, or it will in this case worked in such a way that the cooling of the hot grate charge is completely omitted, as a result, the belt speed and thus also the performance of the device to be able to increase. Due to the modification of what is described above according to the invention Process, further advantages of various kinds can be achieved. So it is B. in those mixed tasks where there is a risk of melting together or there is slagging of the upper parts of the material to be treated, without further ado possible to adjust the temperature in each case so that these disadvantages are avoided can be. The result is then only the desired sintering, which is achieved by fritting together of the individual grains of ore is produced without, however, affecting the entire surface of the feed slagged, making the passage of further gases difficult or even impossible is made.
Furthermore, the invention allows in the case where one part or wants to use all of the hotter exhaust gas as return gas to use normal blowers. It is well known that the hot gas blowers developed so far by the specialist industry allow only the conveyance of gases with a temperature not higher than about 620 C, whereby particularly heat-resistant types of steel are used for the construction of this fan which make these apparatuses very expensive. The invention however, as I said, it also enables normal gas blowers to pump the To use return gas, with as much fresh air being added to the return gas as that its temperature is greatly reduced before entering the fan. The moving parts of the fan are no longer affected by the temperature stress affected and can be made from normal material.
About the amount of exhaust gas resulting from the addition of the necessary fresh air You can not enlarge it unnecessarily, for example when burning lime the method according to the invention part of the heat of decomposition by solid fuel apply, which is added mixed with the lime. In this way it arises a mixed gas furnace, in which, as stated above, normal fans are used while it is possible to adjust the addition of solid fuel in such a way that that some or all of the oxygen present in the excess air is used Combustion is used.
Another advantage of the method according to the invention can be z. B. achieve in industries where excess heat in the form of For example, exhaust gases are not recycled. This is occasionally in ironworks the case in which relatively large amounts of furnace gas are available, not used to generate electricity, power, coke or for any other purpose of their own Operation or for outside. Here you can get the excess Use furnace gas to prepare the iron ore by sintering, whereby the Possibility results in the solid fuel required for sintering the charge to be reduced in terms of quantity or to be omitted entirely. So it can be used for sintering The necessary coke addition is largely reduced and that necessary for sintering Heat can be supplied by furnace gas. This working method is part of the procedure accorded a special meaning according to the invention, which is why the invention in the further sequence may be described on the basis of this example.
As tests have shown, it is possible with an iron ore mixture to which one has hitherto added 7 0 / o solid fuel for the purpose of sintering on a sintering belt has to get by with an addition of about 2% if one is a gas with a temperature feeds from about 700 to 8000 C. The iron ore mixture used was as follows Composition: 560/0 chalky minette, 240 / o gravel minette, 150/0 gout dust, 2.5 o / o mill scale, 2.50 /, roof dust from the steelworks.
So far 40 m9 furnace gases have been used for ignition on the sintering belt per ton of sinter consumed, while reducing the addition of coke to about 20 / a results in a consumption of about 400 m3 furnace gas per ton of sinter. So it must according to the method of operation on which the invention is based, about eight to ten times as much Amount of furnace gas to be burned, for which an ignition hood can be used, which is about 50 to 6o 0 / o of the suction surface. For this you can simply get an extended Provide ignition furnace at a distance given by the length of the sintering machine each contains a normal burner set, as is generally the case with ignition furnaces is. The ignition furnace can be operated in this way by adding appropriate amounts of fresh air that one obtains the appropriate temperatures for the sintering of the ore. The temperature at the start of ignition is useful here, as in such cases It is customary to keep it at around 10,000 C in order to remove the 2% coke breeze still present in the mixture to ignite. By regulating the gas and air volumes, it is then possible to coordinate with the negative pressure of the suction, a desired hot gas temperature in the combustion hood to be set above the feeder.
If hot gas temperatures of about 500 to 6000 C were used, so the addition of coke could already be reduced to 4 ° lo, the sinter obtained being a normal consistency. When the hot gas temperature is increased, what by reducing the amount of fresh air to be added was achieved, the necessary coke could be added be lowered to 1.5 to 2 0 / o, and a black-burned sinter was obtained to produce, in which the ore grains are bonded mainly by fritting. Was the hot gas temperature increased still further, namely by the fact that the approx 200001 C hot burner gases according to the invention added a certain amount of fresh air was so that mixed gas temperatures of 120001 C resulted, so the coke could can also be omitted entirely. As it was found here, runs with the decrease in the addition of coke an increase in the degree of oxidation in parallel, as it is described in the magazine »Stahl und Eisen«, 1951, p.669. this is advantageous for the subsequent smelting in the blast furnace, as this makes it easier Reducibility of the Möllers can be achieved. As the experiments showed, lie the optimal conditions for the sintering of the special iron ore mixture a hot gas temperature between about 700 to 8000 C. It is possible to add coke by about 70%, while the gas requirement to achieve the temperature mentioned is still relatively low. The performance of the tape can be increased by increasing it the negative pressure or the addition of lime or both measures favorably, while further, as mentioned above, it becomes possible to control the degree of oxidation of the sinter to increase. If you renounce the cooling of the sinter and throw off hot, then leaves Here you can achieve a further increase in performance compared to a cold drop.
Sintering pans and pots as well as straight and round sintering apparatus can be used.
