Bei diesen Geräten wird es noch als äußerst nachteilig empfunden, daß infolge des nie ganz zu vermeidenden Spiels im Fußschraubengewinde .ein wenn auch nur geringes Kippen .der Fußschrauben auftritt, was eine Verdrehung und Verschiebung des Dreifußes und damit des Theodolits in seiner Einstellebene (Horizontalen) bedeutet. Man hat deshalb für die Fußschraubenführung stets einen verhältnismäßig großen Aufwand treiben müssen, um diese zum weitestgehend spielfreien Arbeiten zu bringen. Sie stehen mit ihren kugeligen Enden 6 auf Planflächen 7 der am Stativteller befestigten Standplatte B. Wie insbesondere aus den Abb. 2 und 3 ersichtlich, sind zwischen Dreifußteil i und Standplatte 8 drei einarmige Hebel 9, io und i i ,angeordnet, und zwar iri Dreiecksform derart, daß immer ein Hebel zwischen zwei Fußschrauben zu liegen kommt. Mit ihren aufein.anderfolgenden Enden i2 bis 17 sind sie über Kugelzapfen 18 abwechselnd an dem Dreifuß i (13, 15, 17) und an der Standplatte 8 (12, 14, 16) befestigt. Diese Hebelanordnung bewirkt, daß nach der Horizontierung des Dreifußteils i keine Verdrehung und keine Verschiebung .dieses Teils mehr in seiner Einstellebene (Horizontalen) möglich ist.
