Description
Process for the production of sulfonates The subject of patent 743 570 is a process for the production of sulfonates in which sultans are reacted with salts of organic carboxylic acids. As has now been found, sultones also react smoothly with the metal compounds of organic carboxamides or dicarboximides to form the salts of organic sulfonic acids. Instead of the finished metal compounds, carboxamides or dirarboximides can also be reacted with sultones in the presence of metal compounds which are capable of converting said carboxylic acid derivatives into their metal compounds.
The new reaction leads to products that are usually readily soluble in water and are used as valuable wetting, cleaning and dispersing agents should, further as pharmaceutical products and as dyes or their advantages and Intermediates.
Examples i. 1z parts of benzamide are mixed with 1q parts of the sultone Oxybutanesulfonic acid in the presence of 5 parts of anhydrous soda so long on the Heated water bath until carbon dioxide development has ceased. That in the warmth viscous reaction product solidifies almost completely in the cold; it is easy in water soluble; small amounts of unreacted benzamide can be removed by filtration be separated.
Man erhält P Teile der neuen, in Wasser leicht löslichen Verbindung.a. 18 parts of phthalimide potassium are in 5 parts of ethyl alcohol with 1q. Parts of the sultone oxybutanesulfonic acid are heated to the boil until the end the reaction in the complete transformation of the platelet-shaped crystals of phthalimide potassium in the finely matted the new connection can be seen. P parts of the are obtained new compound that is easily soluble in water.
