VerkLeidungspLatte für InnenraumfLachen und aus soLchen VerkLeidungspLatten aufgebauteCladding panels for interior surfaces and structures constructed from such cladding panels
Deckenverkleidung Ceiling paneling
The invention relates to a cladding panel for interior surfaces, in particular in damp rooms such as swimming pools or bathrooms , which consists of a sound and heat insulating base plate made of porous, preferably foamed plastic.
Such cladding panels are available in numerous designs. In addition to achieving optical effects, they are primarily used to increase sound and thermal insulation. Because of their thermal insulation and because of their strong reduction in heat and cold radiation, they have a major influence on the room climate, but they have almost no influence on the air humidity, so that in this respect they are not involved in the room climate control.
The invention is based on the task of further developing the generic cladding panel in such a way that it also effects an equalization of the air humidity and thus makes climate control devices with active air humidity control unnecessary or at least significantly reduces their required performance level.

To achieve this object, the invention provides that the cladding panel is provided on its visible side with a flock layer applied using an electrostatic process, in which the flock fibers are prepared with a salt coating and the adhesive layer anchoring the flock fibers has a microporosity that ensures water permeability.
No. 4, pages 129 to 135" describes numerous flocking processes, including electrostatic flocking processes, which are used to give textile products or molded bodies made of wood or plastic a surface ranging from fine velour to velvet or a similar structure. In addition to optical effects, the aim is to achieve a soft feel. As detailed studies have shown, cladding panels flocked according to the invention are characterized by another special property, namely an exceptionally high water adsorption capacity, which allows such cladding panels to be used as passive elements for regulating the humidity in a room. For example, it was found that even in small bathrooms, water condensation on mirrors or tiles no longer occurs when the bathroom ceiling is covered with the flocked panels according to the invention. During the subsequent ventilation of the bathroom, which only occurs gradually, especially in enclosed bathrooms, the cladding panels release the adsorbed water again, so that they are ready for use again.
Their ability to regulate humidity is even more effective in private or public swimming pools, where high humidity prevails over longer periods of time, before the water level, which then levels out after the pool is closed, allows less water to evaporate. The cladding panels according to the invention absorb a considerable amount of water over the time the pool is used, and it has been found that with ceiling cladding laid exactly horizontally, the cladding panels according to the invention can hold more than one liter of water per square meter and absorb water like a sponge. The water absorption capacity of the cladding panels can be used particularly effectively in such damp rooms by arranging the cladding panels at an angle and with their flocked surfaces abutting one another, and by providing a water drain, e.g. in the form of a collecting channel, along the lower edge of such a ceiling cladding. As a result, the room humidity is constantly reduced and the humidity air conditioning system otherwise required in swimming pools or similar is no longer necessary or at least the load is greatly reduced. Since the cladding panels according to the invention are passive elements for humidity regulation, this results in considerable energy savings for room air conditioning.
The high water absorption capacity is apparently based on the salt coating with which flock fibers are prepared in preparation for an electrostatic flocking process. The salts dissolve in the adsorbed water and apparently create numerous micropores that penetrate the adhesive layer, which create a connection to the porous base plate and thus create a large sponge volume. According to the invention, the water permeability of the adhesive layer can be increased by either applying the adhesive layer using a screen printing process or using pre-foamed adhesive mass to apply it. During the screen printing process, a large portion of the surface of the base plate remains unwetted by the adhesive, and in these areas the water that has condensed on the fibers and on the adhesive surfaces can be passed on in liquid phase to the porous base plate. When using a pre-foamed adhesive, the air bubbles that burst during curing similarly produce a high adhesive-free surface area on the porous base plates.
Durch die DE-OS 26 51 392 sind zahlreiche FarbstoffeThe cladding panels can be flocked in a single color, but this often does not meet aesthetic requirements, since even small irregularities in single-color surfaces, such as streaks caused by repeated water absorption and release, can be disturbing. To remedy this deficiency, a further development of the invention can provide that the flock layer is provided with a color pattern applied using a color transfer process.
In the above-mentioned publication, however, the transfer printing is carried out using a foam film carrying the color pattern, which is placed on the surface to be printed, in particular textile fabric, and is kept in close contact with the surface at a temperature of 160 to 350 °C under pressure until the foam structure of the film is essentially destroyed. Such a transfer process cannot be used for flocked objects, since the non-slip, velvety structure of the flock layer would be lost. For the color transfer printing according to the invention, it is preferable to work with a film made of paper or the like that carries the color pattern, which is peeled off the cladding panel after the color transfer. With such a color transfer process, the structure of the flock layer is hardly changed despite the pressure applied and is certainly not adversely affected with regard to the water absorption capacity of the cladding panels.
According to further features of the invention, it can be provided that fireproof or at least non-flammable materials are used for the base plate, the adhesive layer, the flock fibers and, if necessary, the paint. Numerous adhesives can be used as adhesives, with polyurethane dispersion solution or polyester ether mixed with isocyanate being preferred.
407.407.
Natural or synthetic textile fibers are suitable as flock fibers, with glass or mineral fibers being preferred in terms of fire resistance. Sublimation-fast disperse dyes are preferably used as dyes.
In der Zeichnung zeigen:The invention is illustrated in more detail below with reference to the drawing. The drawing shows:

Fig. 1 and 2 show a cladding panel 1, which consists of a base plate 2 provided with a tongue and groove, which is provided on its visible side with a flock layer 3, the fibers of which are anchored in a adhesive layer 4 applied to the base plate 2. The cladding panel 1 is intended for cladding room walls or ceilings, with its flocked surface facing the interior of the room. As shown schematically, the flock layer is provided with a color pattern 5, which is applied using the color transfer process.
The cladding panel 1 is able to absorb considerable amounts of water through adsorption and capillary action and can - when arranged exactly horizontally within a ceiling panel - hold more than one liter of water per square meter. When the panel is fully soaked, the water is in the form of a relatively thick film of water that can flow under gravity. This property is used in a special way in the type of ceiling panel shown in Fig. 3. The ceiling panel 6 is here significantly inclined to the horizontal. The neighboring cladding panels 1 abut directly against one another at the edges with their flock layers 3, so that the ceiling panel 6 represents a coherent, quasi-sponge-like surface structure, along which the water runs off to a collecting channel 7 arranged at the lower edge of the ceiling panel 6. The ceiling panel 6, which in this form is primarily intended for swimming pools, constantly absorbs air humidity and regenerates its absorption capacity by continuously draining the water to the collecting channel 7. As a passive element, the ceiling panel 6 thus constantly limits the level of air humidity.
The invention is not limited to the type of use of the cladding panels shown. Of course, a vertical wall cladding also provides a continuous regulation of the humidity in the manner explained in Fig. 3. In rooms where the humidity is only low, which is not sufficient to form flowable water films on the cladding panels.
The cladding panels - regardless of whether they are used as ceiling or wall panels, or whether they are arranged horizontally or at an angle - act as a moisture buffer due to their water adsorption capacity, which keeps fluctuations in the room's air humidity within narrow limits.
