However, this positive function of the street drains can turn into a negative one in certain cases. In areas at risk of backwater, flooding can occur through the street drains during floods due to the backwater of the river. This is the case when the street drains are located deeper than the highest flood level.

The innovation of the invention is that to seal against backflow, only a backflow plate (7) with a seal (6) is placed on the bucket support ring (5), which is designed to be closed. Special additional screw connections for sealing are not required. However, an attachment with a hinge (3) and closure (k) or two or more closures is required.
