The invention relates to a handle for fastening to a narrow side of a rolling suitcase or the like, which consists of a fastening plate and a handle piece pivotably mounted on this on one side, which has a fastening flange pivotably arranged with one end region on the fastening plate and an eyelet handle on the other end region of the fastening flange.

Such handles for rolling suitcases are known in terms of their basic structure, for example from DE-GM 85 00 899.

Based on this state of the art, the invention is based on the object of designing a handle of the generic type in such a way that it can be used to identify the owner of the associated suitcase in a simple and inexpensive manner.

can be equipped with external identification. This makes it easy to place the identification of the owner of a rolling suitcase or similar in the handle required to carry out a rolling movement, so that additional tags or similar are no longer required to find one's own suitcase among the many suitcases that are largely similar in shape and appearance.

The receptacle is advantageously formed by a recess in the fastening flange, into which an identification can be inserted in the form of a nameplate. In two areas of the fastening flange that are opposite one another, there are openings on both sides of the recess, into which locking lugs engage, which are attached to a cover assigned to the recess. A spring can be arranged between the fastening plate and the fastening flange. This can be designed as a locking spring to hold the handle in the use or rest position or as a spiral return spring to move the handle back to the rest position when it is released.

According to a further feature of the invention, the fastening plate can protrude beyond the rear of the fastening flange. This design is particularly suitable for attaching the fastening plate to so-called valley frame cases.

The locking lugs 9 of the cover 10 are extended beyond the rear of the fastening flange 4, as can be seen in particular from Figure 6, so that they can be easily grasped and moved against one another to release the cover 10.

As can be seen from Figure 3, ribs 13 can be provided in the recess in order to better position the initials 7 used for identification. In this example, it is recommended that the initials be glued in.

The fastening plate 2 has a substantially U-shaped cross-section. The legs 14 of the fastening plate 2 each extend between two projecting ribs 15 or the like of the fastening flange 4. These are each penetrated in pairs by bearing pins 16 or the like.

A spring 17 is arranged between the fastening plate 2 and the fastening flange 4, which can be designed either as a ratchet spring or as a spiral spring.
