The innovation is based on a container with a removable lid according to the generic term of claim 1,

The known lids are supplied to the customer in the form described together with a pre-formed clamping ring, which closes the container after filling using these parts in such a way that the lid is pressed into the filling opening of the container with a seal in between and the clamping ring is then manually tightened around the lid groove and secured against accidental opening by means of a split pin.

The known lids have proven themselves well in use, but the application of the clamping ring and the split pin lock are labor-intensive operations that cannot be automated at all in the user's operation of the containers.

The aim of the present innovation is therefore to create a lid for removable containers of the type described, with the aid of which the closing of the container after filling can be made significantly easier.

This problem is solved by the innovation characterized in claim 1. The innovation creates a prefabricated closure unit consisting of the lid part itself and the already pre-assembled and secured clamping ring _. The manufacture of this unit as a prefabricated part can be largely automated and its application to the container can be carried out fully automatically. All that is required is to press the lid into the container opening and then roll the lower clamping ring leg until it rests against the container's rim. This work can be carried out fully automatically in the filling plants without difficulty. The laborious application, closing and securing of the clamping ring after the container has been filled is no longer necessary. Another significant advantage of the preform according to the innovation is that the pre-assembled clamping ring forms a base that stretches around the inner part of the lid, which allows the lids to be stacked on top of one another with the clamping rings supporting one another, so that the jamming that is unavoidable with the known lids during transport or storage can be avoided.
